Sunningdale Golf Club

Ascot, Berkshire

• Home of the 2 finest golf courses in England and indeed the World.
• One of England's most prestigious and finest inland golfing venues
• The Old course is the 2nd ranked course in England and 28th in the world was designed in 1901 by Willie Park and has held numerous world class professional events
• The New Course is the 4th ranked course in England and 43rd in the world. It was designed in 1923 by Harry Colt and fits in perfectly with it's slightly older neighbour.

Woodhall Spa

Championship Golf

There are six courses in England that have hosted the Open Championship. Along the rugged Lancashire coastline is Royal Liverpool, Royal Birkdale & Royal Lytham & St Anne’s while down in Kent are the layouts of Royal St George’s, Princes Golf Club and Royal Cinque Ports.

Just north of London is the Kyle Phillips-designed course at The Grove, which hosted the American Express World Golf Championship in 2006, won by none other than Tiger Woods. Of course, no list of English championship venues would be complete without mentioning The Brabazon Course at the Belfry, in Sutton Coldfield West Midlands, which has hosted the Ryder Cup on an unprecedented four occasions.

Societies

Steeped in Ryder Cup history, The Belfry is a perfect resort to accommodate groups of golfers, particularly with the newly refurbished Sam’s Bar.

If you’re heading to the south west, then the St Mellion International Resort is an absolute must. The Cornwall resort boasts two outstanding courses, a brilliant 19th hole and the Fairway Lodges, which are perfectly suited to large groups of golfers. Worsley Park (Manchester), East Sussex National and Hill Valley (Shropshire) are also worth consideration.
