Set within 10,000 acres of stunning Warwickshire countryside, Forest of Arden Golf Resort is one of England's leading golf break destinations. Just minutes from Birmingham Airport and the NEC, this 4-star Marriott resort combines championship golf, comfortable accommodation and excellent leisure facilities in a peaceful parkland setting.

Designed by renowned architect Donald Steel, the resort features two excellent courses. The headline act is the Arden Course, a championship layout that has hosted the British Masters, English Open and Hero Open. Framed by mature woodland and strategic water hazards, it provides a rewarding test for golfers of all abilities. Complementing it is the Aylesford Course, a more forgiving yet equally enjoyable layout that makes Forest of Arden a superb 36-hole destination.

Away from the fairways, guests can relax in stylish hotel accommodation, enjoy quality dining at the Fairway Bar & Grill, or unwind in the resort's health club and Cedarwood Spa. Despite its convenient location close to Birmingham, the resort feels wonderfully secluded, making it ideal for everything from overnight golf breaks to extended golf getaways.

Who is it best for?

Golf Courses at Forest of Arden

Arden Golf Course

The Championship Arden Course at the Forest of Arden Golf Club is one of the country's most established tournament layouts, having hosted the cream of the European Tour for the British Masters from 1997-1999 and in 2003, and the English Open between 1993-1997, from 2000-2002 and again in 2020 where the event changed its name to the Hero Open.

Scoring was often good during these professional events with low scoring totals achieved by Ian Woosnam (1993) and Per-Ulrik Johansson (1997) with 4-round scores of -19. Champions at Forest of Arden also include Colin Montgomerie (1994) and Darren Clarke (2000 & 2002) and Sam Horsfield in 2020 with an overall score of -18.

This is indicative of the quality of the course, which has some truly distinctive holes, especially the 18th, an exacting par-3. The layout suits golfers of all abilities and when stretched to its fullest, the Arden will measure 7,213 yards, demanding the absolute best in striking in order to score well. Should you manage to find the green in regulation, the outstanding putting surfaces will give you a good chance to convert. With the quality of the course it is easy to see why so many enjoy golf breaks at The Forest of Arden each year.

Aylesford Golf Course

The Aylesford Resort Course at the Forest of Arden Golf Club is considerably shorter than its prestigious neighbour, but the expert attention of the greenkeepers ensures that it remains in equally immaculate condition. The Aylesford may be less than 6,000 yards, but underestimate it at your peril, as there are penalties to be paid for the wayward. This charming little course adds good variety to the Forest of Arden's repertoire, and emphasises the quality of a golf break at the resort.

Golf Facilities

In addition, the Forest of Arden Golf Club is home to a first class golf academy, where visitors can seek the guidance of one of the resident PGA professionals.

Alongside the two golf courses there is a 16 bay floodlit driving range with an extensive short game and bunker area including a separate putting green.

Accommodation at Forest of Arden

At the heart of the resort, the Forest of Arden Marriott Hotel & Country Club offers 214 contemporary guest rooms, providing a comfortable base for your Warwickshire golf break. Spacious, well-appointed and equipped with all the essentials, the accommodation is ideal for golfers looking to relax and recharge after a day on the fairways. Despite its peaceful countryside setting, the resort is conveniently located just minutes from Birmingham Airport, the NEC and major motorway connections, making it an easy choice for golf groups travelling from across the UK.

Food & Drink

The resort's dining offering is centred around the Fairway Bar & Grill, where quality local ingredients and classic favourites combine in a relaxed, modern setting. Whether you're fuelling up before a round, enjoying a post-golf meal with your group, or settling in to watch live sport, it's a welcoming space throughout the day. A generous full English and continental breakfast helps set you up for the morning, while Zest provides lighter bites, snacks and drinks served indoors or on the outdoor terrace overlooking the resort grounds.

Leisure Facilities

Beyond the golf courses, Forest of Arden delivers one of the Midlands' most complete resort experiences. The Cedarwood Spa offers an extensive range of treatments, from massages and facials to beauty therapies, making it a popular choice for couples and mixed golf groups. Guests also have access to a fully equipped leisure club featuring a swimming pool, sauna, steam room and gym, alongside outdoor facilities including tennis courts and croquet lawns. Whether you're easing tired muscles after 36 holes or simply enjoying some downtime, there's plenty here to help you switch off and unwind.

The combination of 36 holes of championship golf, quality accommodation, excellent dining and first-class leisure facilities has made Forest of Arden one of the Midlands' most popular golf resorts. Perfect for golf groups, society outings, couples' breaks and weekend golf getaways, it offers a winning mix of convenience, comfort and outstanding golf.

Couple of tight tee offs - so much longer than the Aylesford. Difficult greens - need to have played a few times before you know where to play to. Nice half way house on both courses - £5 a can of Carling 😂 - we all expect this - Good burgers with fried onions 🤪
