0800 043 6644Located on the border of Hertfordshire and Bedfordshire, Luton Hoo’s 7,107 yard Championship golf course, has recently hosted Jamega Tour, EuroPro Tour and European Challenge Tour events.
Golf has been part of Luton Hoo’s history since the turn of the century, with the estate’s original Victorian 9 hole course.
Course designer Mike Smith created the 7,107 yard championship golf course while sympathetically abiding by the lands listed heritage. Golf at Luton Hoo offers a stern test to all levels of golfer, the subtle undulations in the USGA specification greens fit gracefully into the contrasting front and back nines. The front nine offers a unique inland links feel and the back nine meanders through the estates original parkland.
Golf at Luton Hoo offers some picturesque, if not testing tee shots, featuring 6 holes with water hazards. The course offers a formidable test of course management to the accomplished golfer, while remaining an enjoyable challenge for the less experienced player.
The Grade 1 listed mansion house at Luton Hoo has played host to royalty and dignitaries over the centuries. Painstakingly restored to its former glory, the property stands proudly within magnificent grounds. Boasting over 1,000 acres of parklands designed by the celebrated landscape architect ‘Capability Brown’, the estate comprises formal gardens, woodland trails, 50-acre lake, all-weather and Victorian lawn tennis courts, as well as an 18-hole, par 73 golf course. Located in the Robert Adam’s former stables, the Spa a range of products from ESPA to provide relaxation and calm for all guests.
The opulent bedrooms and suites are all beautifully furnished, have individual character and come well equipped; the state suites in the mansion are particularly impressive, all with outstanding views across the immaculate estate. Exquisite fine dining is offered in the Wernher Restaurant with rich furnishings and tapestries setting the mood, while the Adam’s Brasserie provides a less formal dining option.
At the foot of the estate, on the banks of the river Lea, the Warren Weir Suite offers the luxury of exclusive use for meetings, events and weddings.
Ideally situated, the hotel is just 10 minutes’ drive from London Luton Airport and have excellent links to the M1 and M25.
everything about our stay here was brilliant but we would like to say a special and HUGE thank you to all the staff who went above and beyond to ensure a fantastic experience. we will be back.
Jono recommended an excellent venue. Staff were absolutely lovely. Rooms were big and comfy, food was nice and the facilities and buildings were gorgeous. Thanks Jono.
Everything was just perfect, the staff were very attentive and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend your hotel
Great hotel in terms of location, facilities, staff etc. Most of the stay is fulfilled in and around the leisure area of the hotel but golfers get use of nice rooms, the spa, the 19th hole restaurant and the brasserie for evening meal. Breakfast and a later bar are both served in the Mansion house (5 min walk or their shuttle car can be called). Food was amazing (especially breakfast) although drinks are a bit pricey but it is a 5* facility so that comes with the territory. Very nice overall.
Huge rooms , opulent surroundings and staff were amazing ! 5 star service
The staff are absolutely incredible! I’ve been in the hospitality industry for 13 years and I can honestly say they make the entire experience unbelievable. So attentive and engaging and always willing to help! Big shout out to Ags, Caesar, Emily, Kevin and Rob!!
This places makes Fawley Towers look like the Savoy! Absolute are crash but the golf was goofun! Avoid
What a gem of a find this was. Five star all the way and staff all excellent
Course very poorly maintained. Sports bar had no food, limited drinks and no sports TV. Restaurant and house were very tired. No evenings atmosphere. It was fine but would not go back
Staff service was exceptional. Very friendly and accommodating pro shop staff were very friendly and accomodating.
Room was good, located a drive away from the main hotel (where the restaurant / bay was), ordinarily would have been fine as there is a bar in the spa/golf complex, but for some reason that wasn’t open. So was a shuttle car between 2 locations, ok, just a bit of a pain. Main hotel bar was not great, massive lounge area in big manor house - no atmosphere, limited beer selection. Food was good, especially breakfast. Hotel staff felt a bit x disorganized, checked in, got to room (again a car ride away from reception), was a double instead of twin, phone didn’t work in room, one in the lobby did but no one answered so had to drive back to reception. They sorted the room no problem, just a bit of a pain..so overall some good, some bad, not enough to bring me back
Very good experience in the hotel and golf/spa area. Staff were excellent and very helpful. A minor grumble that if, like my group, you're staying in the spa area you have to go all the way to the main hotel to check-in. Not a dealbreaker, but annoying.
First the positives: lovely hotel and grounds, our twin room was large and comfortable. However, the service and food was very poor. At dinner, my main course of burger and fries was close to inedible, and the creme brulee dessert consisted of a far too thick topping of burnt sugar and mushy cream, which again I couldn't eat. After dinner we ordered 4 drinks at the bar, when we were told staff were way too busy to take our order. After 30 mins of waiting we were finally served. At breakfast the full English was tasteless, however there were good fruit and cereal options. We asked for tea and coffees with our food but were told there was a backlog (the room was half full) and they never arrived. Overall we had a poor impression of the kitchen and service. We have visited many similar standard hotels for golf weekends and Luton Hoo is by far the worst for food and service. Certainly not of a 4 star standard.
Everyone in the 16 party enjoyed all aspects of the hotel experience. Rooms were superb, food was excellent and quality superior to most golf trips we have been on. Staff were friendly and attentive. Value for money overall was very good but only bad comment from the lads was over the £6 for each cup of coffee.
Had a great time lovely place to be only one problem run out of draft beer run out of gas for the draft beer and then run out of bottled beer making sure they’ve got stock of all drinks to cater for the amount of people there is one issue they should make sure I get right
Room was exceptional. Large and comfortable. Could not fault it at all. Food was excellent. Food and drink(s) were expensive.
Very good accommodation.
Good main hotel but the golf bar was shut pretty much all day and the greens were awful
very nice service at bars slow
We stayed in the Country Club and it was a lovely location with everything within walking distance. It was a great surprise to find an EV charging point to fill up whilst I stayed. We did have to head across to the main house to check-in and out which was a little annoying. It would be great to allow people to do this within the country club easily. The staff were great and the food at Adams Brasserie was fantastic for our evening meal. There was some confusion with the final payment and IT systems not being linked from the Country Club to the Main house and this caused some frustration at check out and it clouded the start of our second round, however it was resolved before we left and we were able to get on our way. Overall the rooms were large comfortable and had everything we needed for our stay.
Fantastic hotel stuff and services! Hardly to get such instant approaching full service in Europe! The views are marvelous and impressive, peacocks are hanging around… and challenge golf course eats a lot of balls…
Luton Hoo is a beautiful hotel but if you stay in the newer outbuilding it’s the equivalent of being in a travel lodge . While the main hotel is impressive and charming there is a sense that golfers are being put out of the main building and charged a fortune . The food was abysmal and whilst the hotel staff upgraded both people and tried their absolute best , including refunding their chicken sandwiches ( a rudimentary toddler sandwich with some damp rocket and a few crisps ) and then also refunded their dinner cost , after they decided to go for a local curry instead of risking the brasserie for dinner … all in all the experience wasn’t really something amazing. The spa was lovely .
Beautiful Hotel and golf course and a great package deal with your golf travel! Rooms were fabulous and the food in Adam Brasserie was amazing! Spa area and facilities were a little disappointing. Whole area could do with some modernising. Drinks prices are ridiculous so beware! 4 coffees and 2 bacon rolls (literally bread & bacon wrapped up in foil) cost me £33!!! Would definitely use this site though to book other package deals 👍🏼
Accommodation was great, as was the food and service. Very covid aware so no worries there. A couple of things that you may not be aware of, heavily inflated prices ie. £22.77 for two gin and tonics and £7 for a bottle of peroni is not really acceptable. The 19th bar was not open at all today. So we were not able to grab any refreshments before or after golf. Payment was by card only. No cash. Would have been good to know this beforehand.
The rooms were loverly and very roomy
We had a fabulous stay. The food was lovely but the service was quite slow. Also the bar prices are very high
Excellent stay, made very welcome
Food and staff were excellent, the rooms were good, clean and beds comfortable.
The hotel need to sort things out as hanging on the COVID thingy for too long. No tv in the bar and pro shop is none existent. Very poor for groups
Our large and comfortable room was not in the old historic manor house but was adjacent to the restaurant and Spa. We did not enjoy an expensive sandwich which was dry and appeared to have been prepared well in advance - the bread was awful. Dinner was good in parts but a medium rare steak was well done, they did offer to replace after we complained but by then too late
On the whole, everything was wonderful. The food was good, the staff generally pleasant, (but not all of them) and the room was large and comfortable. The bathroom was a little run down, I don’t expect mould in the shower of a 5* establishment, and the taps were loose. The tea and coffee facilities were sparse. We were given a number to call for milk but no one answered the number. We were a party of 16. I suggested we meet mid morning for brunch before playing. The only appropriate food available was either a bacon or a sausage bap, not even a veggie option. Very little choice. After our round the next day we wanted to meet up for drinks and prizegiving but the bar was closed. At the brasserie the sandwiches were minuscule and cost £12! All food and drinks were prohibitively expensive, so much so that no one stayed for a drink after dinner. One round that was bought was 3 gin and tonics and a Diet Coke for which we were charged £50! Absurd.
Very disappointing. Not even close to a 5 star experience.
We had to check in at the main house but our rooms were in a building behind the stable block. V nice rooms, but parking an issue. We went to the brasserie in the stable block for dinner, but as a golfing group were directed to a "back room" for dinner so felt we were in the annex of the annex. Never got more than a sniff of the main building, which of course is heavily used in all promotions.
The room we had was very comfortable, large & we couldn’t fault it. The Adams brassiere was average with a menu that wasn’t that great. There was too much fried food & not many freshly made dishes. Breakfast was good though & staff quite helpful. Spa was good & everything was very clean.
It really is one if the top YGT hotels we’ve stayed at. Beautifully appointed rooms, excellent food with a very wide choice at dinner. Very good breakfast and the staff were all welcoming.
Fantastic very clean in every way
Very good accommodation would have liked to use the better restaurant but probably not viable due to covid
Went during Tier 1 COVID restrictions so difficult to judge fully. Very comfortable accommodation and lovely food though.
Rooms are excellent, very spacious and comfortable. Food was good. We stayed during Covid-19 so not all facilities / bars were open and they ran out of most of their beers which was a shame.
Bedroom was excellent very large and comfortable. Food was very good . Drinks were expensive. Disappointed we could not get a drink in the main house as they were short of staff and it seemed to be closed so had to go to the brassiere restaurant and have a drink after golf their.

thoroughly enjoyable golfing experience from start to finish thanks in no small way to the excellant staff.
Course was in immaculate condition. Was a bit surprised there were no bunkers but it made for a better score! Great course for a group on an away event/overnighter. Thanks Jono at yourgolftravel
the course was just perfect for my daughter and I
A nice test of golf and whilst no bunkers, there is enough rough and water to keep you straight and accurate. Helpful “next tee” markers as it wouldn’t always be obvious to non-regulars. Only issue was some green maintenance on our second round which made a few greens pretty unplayable. It was a timing thing as later in the day it would have been less of an issue. Wouldn’t stop me going back.
The course has enough to challenge the low to mid handicapper in my opinion. The front 9 has plenty of water hazards and interesting dog legs. The back nine is more parkland where the trees give you testing shots depending on where you drive to and shots to the green. Overall a very well kept course, wonderful experience!
The course is fairly difficult but difficult in a self challenging way. The rough isn’t forgiving but you almost want to have another round to get it right. Beautiful surroundings. Jack in pro shop is super helpful!
Thoroughly amazing weekend of golf!
Could do with some TLC but overall great value for money. No bunkers but well protected with narrow fairways, especially on approaches, and brutal rough. Keep it on the short stuff or a big score will happen!
Poorly maintained. Made it unfairly hard.
Overall enjoyable, pace of play was a real plus.. second day rented a buggy, which was needed given quite large walks between tees. Greens ran true but weren’t in the best condition (is early in the season, but they were quite slow and had areas that didn’t have much grass on them). Fairways were good, layout was good, a couple of strange holes eg a 230 par 3 that was a real ‘nothing’ hole. Overall was enjoyable, just not a great course
A nice course and quite challenging. Pretty long so be prepared for that. Bizarrely (in a good way) not a single bunker on the course :-)
Very helpful man in the pro shop fitted us in although they had no record of us as YGT had not sent the booking through to their correct email address. He also checked that our rooms were available to alleviate our stress. The course was in good condition despite the lack of rain this summer, the greens ran well. We really enjoyed our two rounds. The only comment I have is the lack of bunkers - I guess that's a design decision but it seems unusual. We would love to play at Luton Hoo again but wouldn't book a weekend with our usual group, due to the poor service and food options.
Overall the course was very good. Excellent for golf trips and players of all abilities. The fairways are pretty generous and as there are no bunkers players generally save shots and the scoring was better than our home course. General course conditions were good given that all courses are very dry and brown due to the lack of rain. The greens played really well and very true. Some greens suffered from many holes due to birds digging for worms etc but generally didn't impede the ball running.
The course was playing very well but like every course at the moment fairways Holburn but nothing I can do about that would love to go back when the Fairways are nice and lush and green greens were good lots of big holes in them though don’t know what was making them but obviously an issue that needs looking at
Only course I've ever played without a single bunker, which was odd. Due to the drought, the course (fairways/tee boxes etc) was clearly not looking at it's best. The greens, although watered and looking "green" had also suffered with several needing some work done on them. That said, they were true and pretty quick. The course was hard to play given the dryness so was difficult holding the ball on the fairways etc. Quite a few blind shots to play, and given that you couldn't stop the ball from running and running, nor judge the bounce you would get, you had no idea where your ball was going to finish or indeed if you would find it.
As you know there are no bunkers. The holes near the clubhouse had some character because of the trees, but the rest of the course was not particularly memorable, with several similar holes. The condition of the course was OK. Would we go back? - probably not, as there are better courses around.
We were a group of 60/80 year olds, with long experience of golfing together. Our expectations of playing at Luton Hoo were high, but in fact we were quite disappointed. The course and facilities were certainly no more than average, and it is doubtful we would want to go to this course again.
ok
The setting for this golf course is fantastic however, the greens were where it failed. The staff confirmed that they have trouble with drainage and it was telling. Throughout both rounds the greens were bobbly, inconsistent and patchy. Some had no drainage and had standing water and some were dry as a bone and fast. It feels as though this is a hangover from when they were first put in and the staff seem to have their hands tied with what they are able to do, other than dig them all up and start again! The lack of bunkers made the course very open and the rough was short at this time of year making wayward tee shots very easy to find. Some the fairways were lush and well drained whilst others were shabby, dry and cracked. Overall we had a great time with the company and people and the overall setting is stunning. The word I would use is inconsistent and the availability of a bowl of chips and snacks at the 19th was lacking.
Very interesting course, with clear signs to next holes! And difficult as well, because it is not easy to know where to find the green to aim…
Both enjoyed the course and said this was by far the best but about the stay .
The course was pretty busy, especially for a Monday which slowed the round quite a bit. The bar was closed on the Monday which was a little disappointing and they didn't have any lager on draught. The facility of ordering drinks on the course was also unavailable. The whole golf experience could’ve been better if less people were allowed on the course at any one time.
A great challenging course
I found the course a bit long for me my step son had a great two rounds
It was a challenge because we have never played the course. The hole directions were often hard to find
Excellent but challenging track, good challenge for a good golfer, probably too hard for the high handicappers in the group
The course was great, but needed a better signage to get to the next tee, there was no pro shop, but the golf staff were very helpful from their hatch in the wall. We will definitely consider going back.
Course is ok just looks very boring.
Enjoyable layout with interesting greens, no bunkers. The greens had recently been tined so weren't great, the approaches were very firm making it difficult to stop the ball. Overall an enjoyable experience and not busy which helped. Not bad for a resort course but have played better
The course was in average condition given the weather we’ve had, which has helped all our home courses to be in top condition. The fairways a bit scrubby, tee boxes (ladies) very scrubby and the greens ok but a lot of bare patches on the aprons. This was not helped on our 2nd round by a lot of the greens having been tined. They were in such bad condition. 3 of the greens were closed with temporary greens placed on the front apron. Even the green that we had our ‘nearest the pin’ on was a temporary green and we were not forewarned about any of this work. A heads up would have been nice. There was no pro shop and everything was done via a kiosk. Not very 5* at all. All very disappointing.
Rough v high, lost many balls and interestingly not a single bunker on the course! Some interesting holes in a nice setting, but too much traffic and plane noise from Luton Airport which is v close by.
The course was particularly difficult as the rough had been left too long. You only had to go off the fairway a inch or two & if you were in the long clover you couldn’t see the ball. There was no pro shop open & they were very short staffed.
A very challenging course, long carries and long thick grass beyond the first cut on every hole. You do need to keep to the fairways or make sure to take plenty of balls! The Pro Shop team were really nice, nothing was too much trouble and we were looked after very well.
My wife and I found it hard for us I’m 13 HC wife 30 your driving has to be long and straight if you go off line reload the rough is hard if not impossible to get out if your not long of some of the holes you won’t make the fairway unless you hit the strip that’s cut to walk through very picturest
Course was in reasonable condition given the time of the year It lacked the fine touches one gets from a top quality course And the ladies tees are ill thought out And should be rethought
Well designed typical hotel course. Very muddy at holes nearest clubhouse but got much better holes further away. Greens firm and true for mid October Par 5 17th has a stupid big oak in the middle of the fairway at 145 yards-with similar trees either side. Why ?!!!
Great course. Lots of interesting and challenging holes. Some water, some dog legs etc but oddly no bunkers!
Long course with enough challenges, disappointed 19th bar closed and also club house shop ,check in and coffee through a hatch.
