Belton Woods Hotel, Spa & Golf Resort

2nd time we have stayed here on a golf break & it was fantastic all round. The room was clean & comfortable. The food in the restaurant was very good & Emma, who looked after us was like a breath of fresh air. Her smile just made the restaurant experience so much better! In all this was a first rate golf break & we will definately be returning next year

The hotel has had a refurbishment and it is exelent.

I recently enjoyed a one-night golf break at Belton Woods with a group of friends, and it was a fantastic experience from start to finish. We played two rounds across their scenic courses, and both were in excellent condition — well-maintained fairways, true greens, and just the right level of challenge to keep things interesting. The hotel and facilities were equally impressive. Check-in was smooth, the rooms were comfortable and clean, and the staff were welcoming throughout. After a full day on the course, we had dinner in the on-site restaurant, and the steak was absolutely superb — perfectly cooked and full of flavour. It really rounded off the day nicely. Breakfast the following morning set us up well for our second round, and overall the whole trip felt like great value. Whether you’re looking for a relaxing golf weekend or a quick overnight break with friends, Belton Woods is definitely worth it. Overall very happy,we did have a blocked toilet in our room but this was eventually sorted.I was totally unaware that our evening meal was price capped at £32PP,and we had to cover any overspend ?

Excellent facilities. However the rooms are far too hot and we were given rooms near the laundry facilities, which meant trolleys going backwards and forwards from 6am. So not a good nights sleep.

Comfortable large beds, clean room and venue.

Disappointing that the Sports Bar closed at 8pm and was the only place that had Sky Sports on TV and therefore we were unable to watch the evening football!

Accommodation very comfy beds and nice furnishings etc. The bar area and restaurant were lovely, all food and drink we had was excellent. I didn't get chance to use the spa however I'm sure it would be great. All staff were friendly and professional.

From arrival to check out we were treated brilliant.

Nice hotel, although lots of golfers and a wedding going on, never felt rushed, and always somewhere to sit. The only thing I’ll mention which caught me off guard was the evening meal which was part of the package. When sat down to eat we were told that we had a budget of x amount per person, anything that we order from the priced menu over this amount we have to pay for. I’d have rather a set menu with no additional costs. That said, everyone enjoyed their food.

Room was not brilliant. Nowhere to dry clothes from poor weather on golf course Even towel rail in bathroom disconnected which meant absolutely no heating at all in the room. Food was very nice but expensive

Can't really fault the hotel. Staff very friendly and excellent service all across the hotel.

Although we had a superior room it lacked that extra comfort and it needed a bit of TLC.

Overall really happy with the hotel. Spa was good. As I mentioned to Harvey, the above with a games room would be ideal eg table tennis/darts/snooker.

Belton Woods was a great place for our group of 30 golfer, Hotel was very accommodating in every way for all our needs. Lovely spacious bedrooms, great food, and exceptional staff.

A really nice stay for 9 ladies on an overnight golf trip. Rooms were a good size. Lots of room in the bar, restaurant area. Our only complaint was the 1 hour wait for main courses. 4 ladies had a fish dish that was terribly overcooked, but the server arranged for replacements. But that was a further delay! In future we would rather pre order our meals. Apart from that problem, everything else was great. Craig at YGT was fab. Great communication throughout the booking process and stay.

Rooms very clean and comfortable. Never felt crowded in the bars and restaurants. Evening meal excellent and staff very attentive. Breakfast could be better. Buffet a bit overcooked and basic. You can order ‘specials’ which sounded good but these are at full extra cost.,

The hotel was excellent, the food exceptionally good. Two negatives were; On arrival on the Saturday, 10.50 am, we headed for the bar and were informed that the breakfast menu had closed, and we'd have to wait until the lunch menu kicked in at 12.30 for food. Secondly we had amended our evening meal time until 8.15pm (from 7.30 pm) and were informed in the restaurant, in no uncertain terms they had not been informed........until a reference to the call amending the change was produced.......no apology offered. The lady then said the chef had prepared our food for the original time, which was untrue as all 12 of us agreed the food too be fresh, piping hot and extremely tasty. Two small negatives to a very well run and stylish destination

Lovely room and facilities

it is my fifth visit to Belton Woods and it still delivers on many things. Dinner the first night was a total shambles. We were tucked away in the sports bar we were told if we wanted bread rolls, we would have to pay for them !! Some of the starters didn’t come as they were described in the menu one of our group didn’t even get a starter because they had run out hey was not even offered an alternative. The next two nights we saw a vast improvement we were moved up to the oak suite where there were many other golfers the food was a lot better along with the service. The bar shuts way too early they used to serve into the early hours now they are very strict and it shuts by about 12. In my opinion, I think they are struggling to recruit staff. The golf courses are still very well kept and very well Marshalled . Most of the group enjoyed it and thought it was very good value.

Hotel was fantastic rooms where spacious staff was wonderful food was great a bit pricey for the portions. Just be aware you will have to put a deposit on £50 for each room for room service or damages. Takes 3 to 5 days to vome back.

The room was quite large and the beds were very comfortable. The food was very good. Our only complaint was about the "Claret Jug" bar closing early. We had booked this hotel as it had a bar showing the final round of the US Open on TV's. The hotel closed the bar and there was nowhere to watch the golf - we ended up watching on iPads/Laptops - this wasn't ideal. The hotel also shut the main bar around midnight. There were plenty of guests who would have had another couple of drinks.

Booking clashed with weddings, not a facilities available, rooms were different standard, no fridge in one room, hotel tried to bill for the greens fees, didn’t seem very seamless and organised

I had no problem with my room but my playing partner had a room with an adjoining door. The family in the room adjoining were noisy throughout the night, lots of arguing shouting and loud TV noise. He went and knocked on their door at 3am to ask them to keep the noise down but the TV was still on until 5am. He got very little sleep and reported the incidents to Laurence on reception when we checked out.

Brilliant. Staff are just so kind and courteous. Nothing was a bother for any of them. Rooms are comfortable and clean. Food was amazing from the monumental English breakfast to the three course evening meal.

We we're a group of 10 ladies. Had a fabulous time. The beds were so comfortable, rooms spacious and clean. The food was delicious although the system of ordering was a but long winded. Each room was given an allowance of £64.

This place is a hidden gem! Golf course are in excellent playing condition. The staff in the club shop were welcoming & helpful. Golf buggys have gps screens providing all you need for distances & hazards. The Hotel, Bar staff & the waiting staff in the restaurant/grille were friendly & you could see they enjoyed working there. I've booked a number of golf breaks with TGT & this has to be the best one yet!

The deal was great accommodation lovely the two courses tough and in heat condition. The only poor items a golf buggy £45 per round and drinks crazy small coffee £4. A pint of beer £7 a glass of medium red wine £9. Water £3. So disappointed with the extras . B

Superb value for money. Rooms are large and well appointed. Communal areas are lovely. Restaurant and bar offer a decent range of options. Outstanding friendly, helpful and knowledgeable staff.

There simply isn’t enough staff to provide the level of service that you would expect. We had to wait 70 mins from starter to main course on Saturday night. And we had a 7.15 table which was before all the big groups arrived in for dinner - The room walls are so thin, people using the bathroom upon the floor above wake you up …and the rest you can use your imagine for!

Hotel was great all round. Friendly staff, good food and drink options and a nice spacious bar area where our group spent a laughter filled evening. Rooms had everything you would need including a comfy bed for a great nights sleep. No issues at all.

Lovely room in an excellent hotel, with helpful & friendly staff. The only disappointment was that there was no TV available showing football on Sky on Sunday tea-time.

The evening meal was a complete disaster 7.30 pm booking time that's fine. Starters ran out of most so not much selection left. Evening meal itself arrived at 9.30 2 hours had passed before our meal arrived well when it did come the meal was poor quality the staff were very apologetic but unfortunately my friends were more than frustrated by that point overall very disappointing evening it's safe to say we will not be returning there again in a hurry

Hotel was very clean, modern and had everything you could ask for.

The bar and restaurant were excellent and the bed in the bedroom was very comfortable. Compared with other golf weekends it was up there with the best.

The room was spacious and nice. The service in the bar was slow when busy and slow when quiet. Our food order was forgotten and left in the kitchen and served cold 40minutes later. The hotel was so full of ‘Gentlemen on golfing getaways’ that we chose to eat elsewhere in town.

Thoroughly enjoyable stay courses in great Nick. Food exemplary and staff very helpful.

Bar could have stayed open later

The hotel was generally good, if very large. The main issue we had was with the evening meal - it took over 2 hours to serve us a starter and mains. This was despite prompting, and regular (inaccurate) updates that it was arriving soon. Our side order arrived over 5 minutes after the mains, which obviously wasnt good. In their favour they did discount the bill to reflect the (poor) service.

Lovely hotel with good facilities however it is missing is a better sports related bar for after golf. We ventured into town as it was so quiet with no atmosphere. We got a buggy on the 1st day but there was none available for the Saturday or Sunday which was really disappointing. On the Sunday we tee’d off 15 minutes late as there was a ladies charity day going off early in the morning. That led to us walking off at the 15th hole as we waited for than 20 minutes on several tee boxes. We did enquire about changing our tee time as we knew about the charity event but they were fully booked.

Because of our tees times we didn't get the chance to enjoy all the hotels facilities like the spa or swimming pool which would have been great but annoying we couldn't.

We had a lovely large room with two double beds. Very comfortable so had a good nights sleep. Only criticism being no glasses in bathroom or bedroom and limited toiletries.

Belton Woods is a fantastic facility, Hotel is very good and modern, looks to have had a spruce up since the last time there. Staff are all amazing and can't do enough to help you. Food both nights was beautiful, great value for money when you get the £32 allowance towards your food. Used the Spa facilities twice which required no booking and weren't overly busy. Brilliant experience on a whole. Extra special mention to the 2 starters looking after people on the first tee, didn't catch the first guys name but so helpful and knowledgeable and the other starter Graham, top bloke, full of stories and course knowledge. All in all would definitely come back to Belton

I had a wonderful stay at Belton Woods. The room was spacious, well equipped, very clean, and overlooked the Golf course.

Really enjoyable stay for 16 lads, there to play golf over the weekend. The staff were friendly and the hotel was clean and comfortable. Absolutley no complaints!

Hotel in general was very good, room was generally ok although the bathroom sink and toilet appeared to be partially blocked. On arrival we popped into bar to order lunch. After I followed up my general perception is that our order didn't get to the kitchen. By this time some 40 minutes had passed and we were informed that they didn't have the ingredients for one of our 3 orders. Apologies were given and free drinks and nibbles were offered. After another 10 minutes all 3 orders were brought out! In the evening we went for dinner in the bar adjacent to the main restaurant. We ordered 3 starters and 3 mains. After a couple of chases the food came out after about 60 minutes,but all together! Again apologies were given and a voucher for 3 free drinks were provided.

E erything worked out well. I would have liked the presence of a coordinator rather than dealing separately with the bar, conference,golf etc.

Lovely Hotel overall, we had rooms with 2 double beds. Nice communal areas are lovely bar and restaurant. Expensive leisure facilities also.

Room was well appointed and spacious. Choice of food was a little limited. Staff were all very friendly and helpful.

Rooms weren’t all the same standards.. those who paid an extra £100 for a single room were disappointed. I must mention the dinner menu food which was very disappointing on several nights.

Bedroom very clean. Spacious bathroom with good shower. 2 double beds in the room which was most surprising. Mattress very comfortable and nice bed linen. Staff extremely friendly and helpful. I had a sandwich at the bar which arrived quickly was well presented and delicious. The evening meal for my group of 16 was 3 courses, with a choice of 4 for each course. There were plenty of waiting staff and the food arrived hot and well presented. Cannot fault anything.

Large room with 2 double beds! overlooking the golf course. Very comfortable. The restaurant and bar was beautiful the staff extremely helpful and efficient, food was very good indeed.

Best thing is that you booked us a table for dinner as it was overbooked and we worried we wouldn’t get in, However it was pre booked which was a nice surprise.

Hotel was fine but the service in the restaurant for our meal was terrible. Food came out cold and at different times. Had to wait 10 minutes for a steak sauce by which time the meat had gone cold. Very disappointing.

A wonderful place to stay, the staff are ever present but not intrusive. The level of care and the customer service experience is extremely good. The rooms are functional and well presented , it was fun playing the “where is the kettle kept” something that could be explained at check in. The spa is clean and well kept, the possible upgrade would be a plunge pool option but on the whole it is a great place to stay

Lovely hotel with friendly staff both on the golf side and the hospitality side. Food was delicious but drinks prices in the main bar and restaurant were very expensive. £12.40 for 2 pints is extremely expensive. Rooms are spot on with loads of space.

We stayed here for a double celebration, a birthday and Ruby Wedding. The staff in the restaurant were excellent in making our time perfect.

Lower floor rooms were a bit dated and tired -some our party had 1st floor rooms which were updated(decor-wise) and had A/C and a fridge. Food was very good, drinks were relatively pricey. Hotel & Golf courses were very busy but it was staffed pretty well. Could probably do with a snooker/pool room for something different to do in the evening.

The main 2 issue was the level of service at the bar and constantly running out of cider which was the only thing one of my colleagues could drink. The other was items on the menu being no longer available especially on the Sunday.

Lovely hotel with pretty much everything you'd want for a lads golf trip. The only slight negative was location being pretty remote form any good night out but the hotel facilities took that issue away to a degree.

We had a slight problem with the room not being a twin but we got transferred into a better room for the 2nd night. Food was really nice, best part of the stay.

Very comfortable. Only criticism is the very poor lighting in the bedroom, particularly bedside lights. Very difficult to read in bed. Also bad light for applying make-up.

It was felt that the furniture in the rooms was tired, lacked aircon but had a fan, no fridge, housekeeping lacked consistency ie bedroom was clean but bathroom lacked care such as soap left on taps, empty tissue box not replaced, previous occupants items left in the room

Staff in golf bar not interested in being there, golf bar shut at 17.15 without warning and doesn't open on a Tuesday which is strange for a golf resort. 2 hours to get a meal in a half full restaurant.

We traveled as a party of 9. The hotel has a range of different bars and restaurants, sauna and swimming pool. Atmosphere was relaxed and staff were excellent. Evening meal was 3 course from a set menue. Food was good. Breakfast was a buffet catering for all and was fine. We were lucky enough to all be given a separate double room which were large and comfortable. I would say the whole place was above average.

Prices once in the hotel are on the expensive side , a small coffee £3.35. A £5 supermarket bottle of wine with dinner £22.50. The food portions are very small, a 1" wide slice of fruity cheesecake or chocolate tart £8. A v tasty sea bass on risotto £20 but such a small portion :-( still hungry.Asked after our dinner for irish coffees, we were told this was impossible...as all the glasses had been removed! The food was lovely and tasty. The rooms were good with 2 large double beds, few extras- inc 1 v small shower and shampoo gel bottles..not enough for 2 people. Breakfast is help yourself but this caused queues at the machines that dispensed hot drinks -lovely coffee but so slow. Quality of food is good.Staff were great.

The hotel is really really good in every aspect. We were a party of 8 on a golf trip. The food in our package was excellent, one of the best steaks I’ve ever had. The restaurant itself is superb and the bar is also excellent. Expect to pay typical hotel prices at the bar. The spa is spot on and the golf courses excellent. The one downside to the golf was that it was packed and felt very rushed, other than that I would highly recommend.

Gorgeous hotel packed with everything you could possibly need. Rooms were clean and well equipped with lovely views across the course. Hotel staff were generally courteous and helpful, however, bar and restaurant staff were frankly lazy and incompetent bordering on rude. The bar and restaurant were closed at 4pm on Friday and we couldn’t even get a coffee. We were rudely advised there was a coffee available elsewhere in the hotel. Very poor, and echoed by many other guests attempting to do the same.

Lovely hotel, food in the restaurant, both dinner and breakfast, was really nice. Drinks are a bit pricey, but that’s to be expected at a hotel bar. Overall really good.

When I saw suite on my booking (was in a group) was expecting just a normal room but with only one bed instead of two but, it was a deluxe suite and I got to enjoy Nespresso on the patio in the morning! Very nice indeed.

The Hotel was first class and food superb only fault drinks are on the pricey side...

I have visited this hotel several times and standards have certainly slipped. There appears to be a shortage of staff. The informal Claret Jug bar was not open at all. Food service in the bar that was open was very slow. Dinner menu arrangements have been complicated and now appear to be aimed at extracting as much money as possible from customers rather than provide a straightforward dining experience. Our dinner reservation times had not been recorded. Drinks are expensive and the money off vouchers given to us as a small group previously are no longer provided.

After many years visiting Belton Woods this visit was very disappointing. The spike bar (Claret Jug) is now only open Friday/Saturday/Sunday/Monday and on the Friday we were there it shut at 18:00 hours. This left us with only the hotel bar where there are no TV's for watching sport, etc. VERY DISAPPOINTING! The rooms are somewhat tired now and need updating but on a positive note the hotel bar & dining room are tastefully decorated and the food was good. Unfortunately after many good visits to Belton Woods this will be our last as very unhappy at the lack of facilities for golfers.

My first experience on arrival was to be charged £8.55 for a pint of 'Gunners', a non alcoholic drink. This seems like commercial suicide to me. The accommodation was excellent, the food and service good and the staff friendly and helpful. But I don't feel like returning because of the outrageous rip-off drink prices.

Our Room at the Belton woods was lovely, however with a group of 36 not all the rooms had The same facilities Some had no Aircon and fridge. We all chose dinner on arrival for the two nights. The first night went fairly smoothly most of the food was good apart from the salmon which was dry and Didn’t look like Salmon. We also got a lovely bowl of mixed vegetables. The second night was a disaster, downstairs in the main restaurant. Our dinner was booked for 7.45 we all had name places, mine had the wrong name on ( Perkins insted of Spinks) a bit strange, The waiter did apologise and explain that he had dyslexia, which I can appreciate as I have dyslexia as well.it took about an hour to get the starters out, we asked for another role as we had Eaten them waiting for the starter and was told there wasn’t any. The main course did not come out for at least another hour he came and collected all our name places not sure why, and eventually got our dinner gone 10.00 no vegetables tonight, just parsnip crisps, again very strange I did have green beans with my Salmon again that wasn’t very nice things and the beans were not cooked. All very disappointing At the end of the meal he offered us 20% of drinks by that time I didn’t want any more drinks. Bar area after golf There are two bars only one of them was opened at a time, one of them didn’t sell draft beer. Only one Member of staff serving most of the time, We we’re not acknowledged and often carried on chatting while we’re waiting for a drink. Not 5 star service.

Best venue we’ve been to given the distance we are prepared to travel. All round superb but highlights were the staff, everyone so friendly, always had time for you and always with a smile - brilliant!

Rooms were a little dated and in need of a freshen up. That said they were still clean and comfortable. Food quality was good although the drinks were overpriced so ended up going into Grantham for the evenings as this was much cheaper

Firstly I think this hotel may be suffering from a staff shortage, particularly in the restaurant. We were called in for dinner at 7pm but the last of the starters only arrived just before 8pm. Same story with mains and desserts, we finally finished the meal between 9pm and 9.30pm depending on which table people were seated at. We were given a menu and told we could choose anything from it but only up to a value of £28; anything over this amount we would have to pay ourselves. Unfortunately, based on their prices, it required very careful study to try and find 3 courses which came in under £28. In addition to this they ran out of several items on the menu so we were restricted even further. Finally we were told that they had run out of coffee beans so people could only have instant coffee rather than their preferred choices. Having said all this I must point out that the staff were very helpful and really tried their best to minimise the disruption to our meal. Buffet breakfast excellent. Overall concencus of the group was that the bar and restaurant prices are much too high.

Nice clean hotel with good facilities and excellent food. However the service at the bar both before and after golf is chaotic. Queues 12 deep often with only 1 or 2 staff working and a 45 minute wait for a sandwich. Not acceptable.

Overall the accommodation was good , friendly helpful staff, Nice room , golf shop well stocked, and friendly and help staff, Thank you Ryan for your help when I lost my wallet on the course, it was handed in 2 days later minus all the cash. Sadly the restaurant was a let down for me, sitting down for an early evening meal to be told 2 mains and a sweet already not available and on the next night to be told 3 mains and 2 sweets not available. Why when it was a sitting as soon as the restaurant opened, I guess poor management, or a ploy to make you order dearer items, on the second night a full bar only one staff serving, we did want a drink before our meal but had to give up after a long wait to be served.

Only disappointment is the bars closed at 11pm when full of people wanting a drink.

Lovely hotel, beautiful room that was cleaned daily. Fantastic Friendly staff who made our stay very comfortable. Only issue I had was we had a dinner, bed and breakfast inclusive deal so we had a £28 allocation for our evening meal, a steak here cost between £26 and £30. Lovely food tho so you don’t mind paying for it but I would’ve like to know in advance. Drinks are a little expensive (£9.45 for a lager and a coke) but as I said to my playing partner ‘This isn’t a Wetherspoons’ We will be returning.

Great place to stay and play Golf. However took a little while to get our discount at bar and resort voucher. Lack of communication between bar staff, reception and golf desk caused confusion and frustration.

A very well equipped hotel with very friendly and helpful staff. The rooms were clean and very comfortable, and the food was amazing. The breakfast buffet was a great way to set ourselves up for a round of golf, as long as we could avoid the temptation to over eat!

Hotel was perfect. Easy access to the golf course and range. Breakfast and dinner was good. Spa facilities were great. Would definitely return.

The bar staff was great with us but they were so understaffed. Making their job very hard an made getting a drunk very slow. Wedding guests who had their own bar coming down for drinks didn't help. The restaurant was over booked so we couldn't even sit in the restaurant an was asked if we would be willing to sit in the bar to have out meals. The food situation was horrendous, took nearly two an a half hours to get our main meal. Countless times they come back to the table after taking our order to sat we could have what we had picked to eat as they didn't have it. One of the lads had to pick his starter four times an his main twice. This was very poor. The staff did do their best to improve the situation as they could but like I have said very understaffed.

A warm welcome when booking into reception. A very comfortable and well appointed room - we hadn’t slept so well in ages! The staff were friendly and helpful. The breakfast buffet was absolutely superb with plenty of choice. The dinner menu was varied and the food was excellent and beautifully presented.

From the moment we arrived everything ran smoothly, We were greeted in the pro shop and given the menu for the evening meal choices with lots to choose from. Rooms were large and very well presented. Buffet breakfast with large selection. overall very please we went to Belton Wood, highly recommend.

Disappointed that we were not inform that the Main restaurant was closed due to refurbishment so ate in breakfast room with limited menu,ate in sport bar second nightthat had a better menu but service was very very slow.

The hotel used to be owned by De Vere and did have a high standard,but Q hotels have now taken over and even though all the staff are friendly and helpful,the room standards are moderate as is the dining.

Bar reminded me of a motorway service area. One person taking drink and food orders then you moved up the bar to collect your drinks from the only other person working at the bar who every now and again moved off to deliver food, if you like a drink buy three at a time. The restaurant was a function room where the food was of a good quality and hot and the service good.

Accommodation spacious,clean and well thought out - evening meal disappointing- we were advised to eat in the Sports Bar as the restaurant was busy - the menu was the same but the setting basic and lacking in atmosphere. The food choice was limited and expensive- £9 for cheese and biscuits which consisted of 4 small crackers and 2 modest pieces of cheese. The waiter dropped one cracker as he approached our table, apologised but never replaced it??? So 3 small crackers. Breakfast was fine - typical buffet with plenty of choice. The golf courses were well laid out and challenging but generally scruffy - especially the tees and fairways. Overall enjoyable and worth the money but definitely let down by the food.

A very successful trip with two exceptions - service in bar after golf was very slow despite 5 members of staff on duty. Seemed totally disorganised. Service at dinner took over an hour, but at least we received an explanation, apology and free bottle of wine. Excellent rooms.

The arrangements you made were top notch. The only thing about our experience was the slow play on the Woods course and the not too good weather, which was out of your control,and the meal. This was poor but have to say the maitre'd was brilliant and made it as good as he could. Would have preferred a good meal rather than a free bottle of wine. Apart from that , do you organize golf holidays to Turkey?

Originally booked through Yourgolftravel and paid in full only to be informed 4 days before our stay that booking could not go ahead due to mis communication. Was finally sorted but found the experience very unsatisfactory. Be very careful when using Yourgolftravel as they do not seem very reliable ! We had a room for three but facilities only catered for two with third bed squeezes in under window. Was informed that we had booked a De lux room but clearly not the case.

One of the best hotels we have stayed at since 2015 when we started going as a group,very well organised, staff very helpful. We asked if we could move our meal to 6.30pm from 7.30pm so we could watch the football, which wasn't a problem, they laid on a big screen so we didn't have move all night. Staff in pro shop and starters all very good as well. Overall a very pleasant trip

The accommodation was excellent. Unfortunately the weekend was ruined by Harry Clarke at Your Golf Travel by telling us that he'd booked golf buggies for us. I have a bad knee and struggle to complete a full round. Unfortunately Harry told us he had booked buggies for us which was untrue. We booked the trip in August and the very helpful staff at Belton told us that he couldn't have done because they had all been booked out long before then because of the delayed trips because of Covid-19. Staff at Belton rang Your Golf Travel and they were extremely rude to the staff member trying to help us. Harry unfortunately was no help afterwards as he said he could send us proof that he booked the buggies. He didn't and still hasn't sent us anything. Worse than that there has been no apology. We will never book with Your Golf Travel again because of his actions and total contempt for us as paying customers.

Upon arrival, the Hotel stated we didn't have single rooms booked, although I had this confirmed by Your Golf. The booking form stated double rooms but we paid an extra £60 for single occupancy. I was approached whilst eating to forward the hotel reception all email correspondence to confirm I had requested single rooms. Table restrictions because of covid are in place which is great but our group would sit at a table on a number of occasions and have to wait 20 minutes for our drink order to be taken, even though the hotel wasnt busy. The courses were good, the food was excellent, the rooms and hotel were very clean and modern. Overall it was a good trip but was let down slightly by the above.

well despite covid the hotel managed everything so well - the food was great and staff couldn't do any more fantastic it was so impressive my golf buddy booked a further trip in a couple of weeks.

Given the necessary changes due to Covid 19 the hotel did well although they did say that they took temperatures of all incoming guests when I made an enquiry but this did not happen. Overall I would recommend this hotel for a golfing break.

Covid has made it difficult to normalise a hotel stay and closing bars at 10pm and restricted numbers in bars and restaurants is challenging but Belton woods did not step up. It was vastly understaffed, we waited for over an hour for coffee on Saturday and on Sunday morning were not even asked if we wanted a drink in the bar area even though it is insistent you cannot go to the bar. The Southern chap who appeared to be running the hotel bar on Saturday evening (not the golf bar) was rude, lazy and should not pursue a career in hospitality. There was a group of Southern gentlemen golfers in a party of 20+ and all he did was serve them and talk to them for the whole evening and when approached by another party he became quiet obnoxious and angry. It was a shame because most were running with the rules and being understanding but 2 staff trying to table service over a hundred people is bad management. The staff generally, particularly the ladies were very pleasant and helpful, the golf was great and the rooms and facilities at Belton Woods are excellent.

Our room was very nice but a very long walk from the facilities. The restaurant and bar area were dated and tired. The meal was disappointing and the time it took to serve us was way too long for what we got. We knew the bar prices would be high but £9.20 for a glass of house red was extortionate.☹

The accommodation was excellent. Very clean and two double beds in each twin room with a good sized bathroom is all a couple of golfers need. The food (evening meal and breakfast) was first class and the staff were very helpful.

Disappointed that the Restaurant at Belton Woods refused to give us 20% of our lunch on Sunday (despite showing them the contract that shows 20% of food & beverages) and said we should take it up with the golf shop, which we did who gave us a voucher to show at the restaurant who for the second time said it was for drinks only. The golf shop then told us that we should take it up with the Hotel Management. The Golf Shop understood our frustration and said that they would only charge us £30 for the Buggy's (which we thought was quite expensive anyway). We spoke to the Hotel Management in the evening after playing golf who gave us a card to confirm our entitlement o 20% of food, but too late for our lunch of course!!On Monday for our second round of golf the Golf Shop charged us £35 for the Buggy's with an explanation for the price increase that the greens on today's Woodside course were in better condition than Sundays Lakes Course hence the increase (no mention of the "gesture" for us not getting 20% of our lunch) Very disappointed in the Financial rip-off on a Golfers lunch and overcharges on Buggys! We are all members of a Nottinghamshire Golf Club and certainly wont be recommending Belton Woods because of this, more to be wary of overcharges!

Hotel rooms are a little tired, in need of some updating and refurbishment but still quite comfortable. Breakfast was good , mainly buffet but some additions at extra cost. Dinner menu change every day and good choices and quality reasonable. Not a great selection of beers on draft.

Large hotel with good facilities. Good selection of bars and restaurants and Groups well managed and catered for.

Two comfortable double beds and plenty of room to move around. Good selection of drinks at reasonable prices. Shame the hotel bar did not serve cask ale like the 19th hole.

The only downside of the hotel is that in March they decided to discontinue the evening carvery in favour of an A la Carte menu. The food, however, was still very good with the normal full breakfast buffet still being served

Rooms were great, most staff were very welcoming and couldn't do enough, but the sports bar staff were too busy - too short-handed perhaps. Breakfast was very good and very ample. The set dinner had 4 choices for each course, but on the two nights we were there, at least one of the main courses was disappointing and the quantities insufficient. Most of my group were happy drinking lager, but I and a few others thought the choice of only 2 draught beers was very poor - disappointed not to have any hand-pulled beers in any of the bars.

Accommodation very comfortable and clean but bars and restaurant disappointing. The hotel ran out of beer over a very busy Bank Holiday weekend! On one evening the food served up bore little resemblance to the menu. e.g. steak and ale pie was substituted with a Cornish pastie! It transpired that the kitchen had not ordered enough food and they tried to palm us off with inferior substitutes with no explanation! A very poor customer relation experience which will probably mean we will not be returning to Belton Woods. The management did try to make amends the following evening but the damage had been done. A disappointing experience.

Absolutely perfect location under an hours drive, luxurious bedrooms with second to none facilities. Made to feel special from all staff we meet. Meals plentiful and varied, restaurant and bar area spacious and very comfortable. Customer service second to none from the delightful Rachael whoe went above and beyond to make our stay welcome. 10/10 we will be back.

Food/only carvery available all three nights. Some staff had a don't care less attitude. (ordered a bottle of champagne in the main bar next to the restaurant & got told no full bottles of champagne available ?? went to the golf bar & they went to the cellar and got one ???) No one enjoyed the food experience (first time ever).

Our stay was as one would have expected.Having stayed at Forest Pines and Slaley Hall previously Belton Woods is on a par although the two courses are not quite as good as the others.

We had a wondeful tour with our group of 32 and could not fault it in any way. The private dining room was superb and the staff looked after us very well indeed. Everyone commented how much they'd enjoyed the quality of the meals. The golf courses were all ideal for our tour representing good challenging tests in scenic surroundings. We would highly recommend it for other groups.

So many pitch marks on the greens on lake course greens that wasn’t repaired, I repaired as many as I could. The only small disappointment? No sausage rolls at the halfway house! After 9 holes, we were all hoping for that classic mid-round snack, but sadly it wasn’t on offer due to not restocking was only 1pm too. Hopefully next time they’ll add them to the menu — it’s the little things that make a golfer’s day! Aside from that, everything else was spot on.

We played this course on our second day again the course in particular greens were very good. Slow play again for a problem the starters hut is a halfway house on this course.

Great first day. Graham the started was very helpful and knowledgeable regarding the course. This we have never had at other course so well done Graham and Belton Woods.

Saturdays round was slow after starting at around midday, Sundays was quicker starting first thing. We were away for the weekend, so wasn’t really bothered by the pace. Fairways good, rough not too punishing, greens good as well. 2 enjoyable days.

Greens were not good. I might have missed it but I don’t recall being made aware of aeration maintenance holes on the green at the time of booking. So they didn’t play true. They were better on day 3 but still not championship standard. Chipping green wasn’t handily located and so many of us didn’t get to visit. Maybe we should have woken up earlier perhaps. I asked for a championship course and this wasn’t it.

My friend and I enjoyed the woods course really played out well and was a joy to play. Our game was slow at over 5hrs and I would suggest that dinner times of 7:30pm are really tight to make when teeing off on the afternoon. The group playing behind were worrying about this and I told them to ask to have your time moved when you finish playing and the hotel did this for them and us. I just think slow play could have been avoided if groups are told at the stsrt( #Keep up with the group in front. #Do not return to the tee if you lose your ball. #Play a provisional ball if you think it’s lost or not sure where it landed. #You have just 3mins to look for a lost ball. # On course marshal in a buggy to monitor the play. Those 5 things would make playing the course much more enjoyable.

The course is challenging and with so many groups and societies playing it you can see why play was held up. This was partly due to people not having the knowledge of the basic rules and etiquette of the game. Three times the people in front of us returned to the tee to replay tee shots and all the way round people were spending far too much time looking for lost balls.

This was a cracking course. A good test for golfers of all abilities. As mentioned in the name there is plenty of water so you have to plot your way round. The greens were in excellent condition and running true. The starter (Chris) is excellent and gave plenty of advice and tips before we started both of our rounds

Excellent condition. We played in 15 t0 20mph winds, so it was tricky. The greens were superb and slightly quicker than the woodland course. The fairways and the tee boxes were well cut and in lovely condition. The rough on the other hand could do with a cut as it was very thick and long in certain areas. The bunkers were full of sand and easier to escape. The course layout was great. Some off the holes with water were extremely tricky but fun. Great course

Plenty of sand in the bunkers and in good condition. The greens on the other hand were in excellent condition. All ran true and smooth, but slower than the putting green, so took a few holes to acclimatise.

Great tee boxes, fairways, bunkers and greens…recently set up for a competition. No bins on tee boxes for broken tees!!! Challenging course, not too difficult but water presents tough approaches to a number of greens.

Very very slow rounds. 2 5.5 hour rounds in buggies, was not acceptable at all. Marshalls tried their best but we were waiting at least 10 minutes on every hole and on one hole there were 4 groups.

Enjoyed to Lakes course more than the Woodside course, quicker greens and though shorter it provided some quite challenging holes.

Greens were very slow and signage around the course was sometimes confusing.

A harder more challenging course than the woods but quite picturesque with a few challenging water traps to negotiate. Our group loved the lakes course and it made a fitting end to our two round overnight stay at Belton.

Lovely course albeit the fareways and tee boxes were a little scorched with the dry weather we’ve experienced lately. Greens good. Pace of play good. All in all our group enjoyed our first day on the Woods.

A much better course than the lakes. much more interesting with some pretty holes

Nice courses that were nicely suited to a range of golfers. The lakes was a bit dissapointing - didnt really live up to the hype.

Found this course quite difficult. Not only lots of water but lots of bunkers which wete not in great condition. Again slow greens but true.

The course is suffering due to tge lack of rain. The greens were extremely slow but they were true. Some fairways are absolutely covered with goose pooh...not great.

Harder than the Woods course, mainly due to the water. Still suitable for all standards of golf.

Golf course good for all levels. No real complaints about the course to be honest. Round time each day was 5 hours so that was a bit of a problem, despite being told that marshalls would be about speeding up play.

Loved it .
