Sherwood Forest Golf Club

Sherwood Forest, which was founded in 1895, originally featured a course designed by Harry Colt. However, like many of the mature and esteemed golf layouts across the United Kingdom, it underwent modifications by James Braid. Interestingly, Braid held the belief that upon its completion, Sherwood Forest stood on par with any inland course in Britain.

In contrast to modern water hazards, the Championship Course showcases ninety-eight bunkers crafted from local sand and demands players to make long carries over extensive areas of heather.
