The International Olympic Academy Golf Course at Costa Navarino is considered to be one of Jose Maria Olazabal’s best designs. As one of Europe’s most travelled and most successful golfers, Olazabal has managed to utilise the natural landscape to enjoy panoramic views and testing holes that are amongst the best within the 4 course offering at The Costa Navarino Resort.
Measuring 6,986 yards with a par of 72, golfers playing here are going to need accurate driving to have a chance of playing to their handicap. There’s plenty of opportunities for dropped shots courtesy of the large drop offs and hazards lying off the fairway.
After your round, be sure to allow plenty of time to enjoy a cold drink, the Hills Clubhouse is a design delight. The work of architect of Lubomir Zeman in creating the clubhouse is one you have to enjoy. A sunset here with a drink and some food is the perfect end to a day playing The International Olympic Academy Course.

Of the four courses in the Navarino estate this was my least favourite … but to put it into context it is still a 9/10 track , with some stunning views and holes.

Very tight fairways, red stakes only on one side. Some fairways were poor with irrigation problems and significant areas of GUR.

2nd best of the 4 resort courses ( just ahead of the Hills). Once again a good track just lacking the maturity of the Bay and the mightily impressive Dunes. We rated it 7.5 out of 10

Lovely course, spectacular views on back 9 with some amazing signature par 3’s around the turn. Greens better than Dunes. Excellent practice ground.
