Barceló Marbella is a colonial-style 4-star hotel just outside Puerto Banús, putting you in a handy spot for the Marbella Golf Valley and wider Costa del Sol. You're around 40 minutes from Málaga Airport, which makes it a straightforward choice for short breaks and long weekends when you want maximum golf and minimal faff.
If your plan is to play a few different courses without living in the transfer van, this location works. Los Naranjos, La Quinta and Atalaya are all within easy reach for mixing up your week, while the hotel itself gives you plenty to do once the clubs are back in the locker. There's a good-sized outdoor pool, plus a Health and Wellness Centre with sauna, Turkish bath and an outdoor hot tub area, ideal if you've walked 36 holes or tackled a hilly track in the heat.
You're close enough to Puerto Banús for a lively dinner or a marina wander, but far enough out that you can actually sleep, which is exactly what most golf groups want on night one. If you're coming to Marbella you want great golf and an easy night out without the noise keeping you awake. This ticks both boxes.
Who is this for?
Golfers and groups looking for a well-located, mid-range hotel with good facilities, easy access to multiple courses and the option to dip into Puerto Banús nightlife without being in the thick of it.
Who is it best for?
Societies, couples and small groups who want a comfortable, no-fuss base in Marbella with a strong wellness offer and the flexibility to play a different course each day without long transfers.

Rooms at Barceló Marbella are spacious, modern and geared for a comfortable golf break rather than over-the-top luxury. Air conditioning, satellite TV and complimentary Wi-Fi come as standard, and every room has an en suite bathroom and a private balcony, handy for a post-round beer while you plan tomorrow's tee time. Some rooms add a Jacuzzi-style bath, which is a welcome bonus if you're carrying a stiff back after a couple of big days.
The room categories run from Superior Rooms up to Suites, so you can match the set-up to your group. Superior Rooms suit couples, solo travellers and mates sharing without spending on extras you won't use. Suites give you more space to spread out, which tends to work better for longer stays or small groups who want a bit of breathing room between early starts and late debriefs.
Recovery is where the hotel quietly scores points. The Health and Wellness Centre includes a sauna and Turkish bath, plus an outdoor pool area and a solarium for anyone chasing winter sun. Therapeutic treatments can be booked through reception, so if you like to build in a massage after day two, it's worth checking what's running during your dates. The outdoor hot tub gets busy in the evening, particularly after a long day on hilly fairways.
Food is easy as well. You can eat on-site when you want a simple, no-fuss evening, or head into Puerto Banús when the group fancies seafood, steaks or a bit of atmosphere. Breakfast is often included in our packages depending on dates and board basis, covering the usual continental and cooked options with enough variety to fuel a morning round without feeling repetitive over multiple days. If you're hiring a car, on-site parking is useful for bouncing between courses without relying on taxis.
Reception can usually help with local information, and we can arrange tee times and transfers as part of your package. The hotel is used to hosting golf groups, so logistics tend to run smoothly. Overall, it's a practical, golfer-friendly base with solid facilities, sensible comfort and easy access to some of the best-known courses around Marbella.

The hotel is too isolated therefore to access restaurants, bars, coast, golf courses, places of interest all of the things that you do on holiday,we had to use taxi's that is expensive and time consuming. There we're four of us on a golfing holiday and it was frustrating to have to spend time and money travelling to golf, when we were overlooking Guadalermina golf. The hotel and staff were good.

Great hotel and location for the golf courses we chose. There was not a lot going on around however taxis were plentiful and always arrived in a timely manner. The rooms were large and spacious and the facilities were great with friendly staff

Rooms are nicely spacious and nicely decorated. Beds are comfortable and the freebies in the bathroom are a nice touch.
