0800 043 6644Thomas' brief was to create a golf course that could be enjoyed by everyone, and would also be totally harmonious with the natural landscape and its indigenous plant and wildlife. The lush green fairways are bordered by stunning flora and fauna, while the brilliant white sand makes for fantastic contrasts of colour.
Thomas has shaped the landscape and incorporated three strategically positioned lakes into gently undulating terrain to produce a layouyt that is truly enjoyable for all standards of golfer. The fairways are generous but wild shots will be punished by the surrounding trees and rough. The design is also typically Dave Thomas in that the golfer cannot overpower the course, and is required to think his or her way around in order to be rewarded with a decent score.

The outstanding new facility at Roda is of such great quality that the PGA of Europe have chosen it as the venue for their first golf academy outside the United Kingdom. The region is blessed with 300 days of sunshine during every calendar year, so this is the spot for a golfing getaway in the dreary winter months at home.
The resort has both 2 and 3 bedroom apartments which only opened at the end of 2006, and are ideally placed for accessing Dave Thomas' golf course. The apartments are perfectly equipped to ensure that your self-catered accommodation will be comfortable and luxurious.
The resort is owned and managed by one of Europe's best golf resort management companies, De Vere, and Roda, with its super course, is blessed with all the facilities you could dream of, including a number of outdoor swimming pools and the superb beach club. The golden white sand is pounded by over 300 days of sunshine a year, making it perfect for relaxing and soaking up the rays.
Loverly apartment all you need
very good accommodation and the course was excellent
We had an apartment for 4 people. First room very good for space and wardrobe. 2nd room smaller so it was easier to leave cases in the lounge. Cooking facilities fine. All four chairs on balcony broken. Nice swimming pool nearby. We did loose water pressure for a short period but this was due to the major flooding a few weeks before. Not a great problem.
We stayed in a self catering town house over the Christmas period. It was clean and adequate, but lack charm or homely touches. It was a rather dark building which got very little sunlight during the winter period, although I would think this would be a blessing in a scorching summer. Our main problem was that the artificial lighting was very dim and inadequate with no table lamps etc which could be used to enhance light and atmospher . The kitchen was clean and just about ok. Everything worked, but there was only one shelf in the oven, and the only supplies left for us were two dishwasher tablets and a small quantity of washing up liquid. However, there was a plentiful supply of good towels and the hot water and heating systems were excellent . A slightly bigger problem problem was that there was no parking close to the house and this required quit a bit of maneuvering of heavy golf equipment and shopping. We used the on site restaurant several times and must say that the food was extremely good and plentiful. All the staff that we came in contact with were friendly and helpful.
Self catering town house quite a long way from the clubhouse
Accomodation was pretty much as we expected. Enough space in the lounge and bedrooms, small kitchen but OK for a few days. Basic standard of furniture.
The apartments were well equipped and we were fortunate to be fairly near the pools, reception and about a 5 minute walk to the golf facilities. The check in was superb and the lady was a credit to Roda Beach Resort. Disappointed that there were no shops on site and that despite us being the only people in the pool playing with a ball resort security put a stop to it!

We booked as a 2 ball but roda put us with other 2 balls .I'm not a bad player but they put me and my mate with people who were not so good and my game suffered due to waiting for them .
thoroughly enjoyayable
Could have done with rough cutting tighter but apart from this all ok
Great course and facilities, refreshment trolly on the 9th tee and a number of toilets on the way around the course ... summary ... really great experience
I have played here before. Excellent challenging course. Fabulous golf clubhouse facilities. Treat yourself to eat at the restaurant as the food is excellent.
Fairways and greens were very sparse.
The course suffered from lack of rain, but the greens were very well maintained. Possibly the course would have been improved with more variation between the holes, some of which were rather similar.
Great course and excellent facilities
All great on the golf side but the bar/restaurant afterwards, although having great food and drink, the miserable and slow service was disappointing.
The last hole was really the best hole
Great set up. Everything you'd require pre and post round and course was in excellent condition
Excellent course. Not too much water but they did like to put the pins barely on the greens so very difficult to get close.
Roda was a more traditional course albeit a little more pricey - beautifully presented with great greens generous fairways but not short of challenging holes including a very long par three early in the round and an island green on the signature hole. Pro shop well stocked and fantastic facilities, definitely one for a return visit.
Fabulous course - with a tough front 9. Only problem is that it is always slow there as if they are squeezing too many onto the course
We’ve played this course for over ten year know and the course was in stunning condition. From arrival to eating in the restaurant prior to leaving for the airport brilliant. I’ve seen it in a right mess on a couple of occasions previously but on the day, perfect, Well done Roda golf!
great set up and very reasonable in the bar and restaurant, well worth a visit.
Due to the major flooding a few weeks ago the course had to be closed for a number of days. When walking around the course you could see the debris in the bushes. Some areas must have been flooded 4 to 5 feet deep. Taking all that into account the fairways were fine and the greens were nearly there. ( I have played on a lot worse in the UK!) The light rough was somewhat difficult as the ball sank in quite deeply and the club got tangled trying to hit out. The second time we played they had mown it and it was a lot easier but still difficult when being just a foot off the fairway. Still scored an 87 which was only 4 over my handicap so happy with my round.
Great course well maintained brilliant day and club house
We enjoyed playing this course five times over our holiday period and found it a challenging course that remained constantly interesting. The first nine is more demanding than the back nine and wayward or over ambitious shots will be penalized . The signatures par three, hole seven is surrounded by water and requires an accurate shot to avoid running of the back. I really enjoyed playing it as it was clear where the danger was! If you have not got a gps buy the course planner . There were many complaints about reading the greens but I felt that it was mainly a case of getting the pace right and we just about got there on the fifth attempt!
Course was challenging but playable. General condition good but greens showing signs of being overplayed. Not helped by golfers not repairing pitch marks! this must be frustrating for greenkeepers and is inexcusable
In need of some tlc with several greens looking like patchwork quilts.
We were a group of 12, with a mix of players from single figure handicappers to some who only play once a year. So we played mainly just for fun, nothing serious. And apart from the greens the course was good. Just stay out of the rough.
Tough course with no 1st cut - straight from fairway into tough grass where struggling to see balls sat low down
Firstly when we arrived it was post a torrential storm which had a massive impact on the course condition, however Marco went above and beyond to help us make the most of the situation and despite us due to play 2 rounds at Roda he managed to get us a transfer to Lo Romero at no additional expense to us which was fantastic. We were able to play 18 holes on the Sunday, whereby the greens were in poor condition they were closing 4 of the greens the following day on the recommendation of the green's staff which was the reason we decided to choose an alternative course for the Tuesday. Marco was a star!
