The open parkland landscape makes for an exciting round of golf at Pelagone golf club. While not the longest at 6,544 from the back tees, the majority of the holes demand accuracy and precision, with water hazards on 11 holes waiting to punish. Offering challenges for both new and experienced golfers, the course also gives breathtaking sights of the Tuscan landscape with the undulating fairways having peaks where you can get panoramic views. This is evident on the 18th hole where you shoot down towards water with views of the island of Elba and Tyrrhenian sea in the distance; although only the brave will go for the green in two with a long carry over the hazard.
Undulation is rife throughout the whole course, so be sure to practice your sloping lie positions on the fairways and 'big break' putts on the greens. On the whole the course is extremely fun to play and is a real test of both the low and high handicappers. Practice facilitiesWith a driving range over 150 metres wide for every standard of golfer to practice and putting, pitching and chipping greens next to a practice bunker, visitors will be able to put in the extra hours if they want. A pro shop is also open during opening hours where you can buy the latest equipment, hire clubs or get pro advice from the on-site pro.
The clubhouse has a bar where you can get light refreshments and snacks after your round, with both indoor and outdoor seating. However, the neighbouring Cordial resort is the place to go after your finish your round. The dining options include a pool bar where you can enjoy tuscan wine, while for a meal, the menu at the Le Cerretelle restaurant serves authentic Italian delicacies including meat, feat, anipsati, pasta and pizza dishes.
Away from the food, guests can enjoy a swim in the outside pool, a game of tennis or even some time on the private beach. Also part of the resort are luxruious accomodation options including 123 suites with all the typical amenities as well as Villagio, which is also part of the 4-star complex. While staying, you'll be able to take advantage of the beauty and ayurvedic wellness centre which is equipped with a sauna, steam bath and infared cubicle.
