0800 043 6644Built on former mining land owned by US Steel, Oxmoor valley is largely shaped by the peaks and valleys of the Appalachians and in their current form the courses feature scenic forests, numerous creeks and elevation changes that add a degree of difficulty to approach shots to the well protected greens.
Both golf courses at Oxmoor Valley, the Ridge and Valley courses, feature dramatic undulations and elevation changes which call for good club selection and course management and while they each boast a healthy total yardage of over 7,000 yards, four sets of tees allow golfers of all abilities to find their comfort zone.
The short course consists of a collection of 18 superb par 3s, each of which is played from an elevated tee, providing much drama throughout the round. This course is ideal for those who wish to brush up on their iron play and for those who don’t feel up to the rigors of a full length championship course. Additional practice facilities include a full length driving range and an excellent putting green.
The Valley course is tree-lined and dotted with picturesque lakes. The course features beautiful rolling fairways and stretches two miles downrange along a slender valley before returning to the clubhouse.
The layout of the Valley course is a straight forward out-and-back route that plunges down to the valley floor, via an excellent, opening par-4 and a strategically bunkered par-3. Once in the valley much of the course contains pleasant undulations in the terrain, although never anything too excessive.

The Ridge course, with its roller coaster fairways, heavy tree cover and precipitous 150-foot elevation changes, is incredibly photogenic and features some of the most spectacular par 5s in Alabama.
The occasional water hazard and large undulating greens all contribute to the sense of challenge, fun and drama on the Ridge course. The carries required over ravines or water will be a factor on how well your round goes.

Great course. One of the very best on the RTJ.
Good course but not as good as Ridge Course.
Great elevation changes - green were slower than they looked.
