Created in 1971 by architect Mickey Fenn, the course sprawls over 160 acres of beautiful forest. This is an immaculately kept course that offers a marriage of technical holes that heavily feature large sand traps. The 18-hole 'Grand Crus' course is a par-72 track which stretches to just over 6,500 yards from the back pegs, however the various tee options allow players of all handicaps to enjoy this marvellous course.
The contrasting nine’s are a real treat to play, the front features several really trick doglegs where as the back nine offers a number of lengthy and challenging holes which only require the ball to be kept straight (easier said than done).
One of the most memorable holes at Norges Country Club Golf Dijon Bourgogne is the opening one - a left-to-right dogleg which plays slightly uphill and has an abundance of trees to the right hand side of the fairway. As a result an accurate tee shot is required to leave an open shot to the putting surface on this 400 yard par-4.
Another great hole is number 9, an uphill 550 yard par-5 which calls for three accurate shots to reach the green. Shot number’s 1 & 2 must keep between the trees which line either side of the fairway, which bottlenecks very narrowly around the 120 yard mark. If you manage to get this far in two shots then you’ll be left with a tough approach to an uphill green which is protected by cavernous sand-traps at the front and slopes on all other sides.
Complemented by a 6 hole academy course; the perfect place to hone your skills before tackling the main course.
Norges Country Club Golf Dijon Bourgogne is also able to boast a number of great facilities which help to enhance your golfing experience, including: driving range, putting green, well-stocked pro shop, club rental and a superb clubhouse which offers a lively bar and a top-class restaurant that serves up delicious food.
