0800 043 6644Opening in 1999, the 18-hole layout at Maderas Golf Club, designed by former professional Johnny Miller in collaboration with architect Robert Muir Graves, represents one of the final projects undertaken by Miller in his illustrious career spanning almost half a century.
Throughout the course, water hazards come into play on various holes, notably the par four 9th, where ponds flank both sides of the fairway, creating a narrower landing area for the drive and presenting a challenge for the approach shot to a double-tiered green complex.
The undulating terrain guarantees the occurrence of uphill or downhill lies during a round, but the most significant obstacle to achieving a favorable score lies in the severity of the bunkers. Many of these sand traps possess high lips, imposing a penalty on errant shots and demanding precision from golfers.
