Set at the base of the Almenara mountains, Lorca Golf Club is a modern, fun and exciting resort with a fantastic golf course to enjoy. Since it's official unveiling in 2011, the 19 hole, par 71 has been extremely popular amongst both professionals and amateurs and it's easy to see why. Running alongside a protected natural park, Lorca is famous for its undulating greens and fairways which also boast the speed of many championship courses.
Away from the fairways, you can find the town of Lorca in all its beauty and luscious beaches of Aguilas just 10 minutes away while Murcia International Airport is about 75 minutes in the car.

The parkland course plays a rather familiar 5705 yards so will not be too daunting for the high handicappers. However this course plays at a fast pace which is testament to the terrific maintenance; Lorca pride themselves on the conditions and speed of their greens which they can perfectly receive any shot.
As an truly exciting course to play, the fairways are also relatively forgiving with wide landscapes to aim for but again these come not without a hazard as you will find 26 bunkers strategically placed around the course as well as pleasant surprises in the form of some unique water hazards.
Two of the stand out holes around the course both feature water and definitely have an element of risk-reward. The par 4 9th plays at 360 yards but make sure you take your driver off the tee as you will have to clear two lakes before shooting up to the green with a protecting bunker and more water on the right - probably best to stay left down the fairway. The other is the 3rd which plays 10 yards shorter than the 9th but to make the green in two will be a great achievement. An elevated green with trees behind, bunker just before and water on the right will test the shot selection on the fairway.
On the whole Lorca is an extremely fun, testing and rewarding course to play and with the Almenara mountains always in eye shot, you'll feel secluded from the outside world while you get through your round in serenity.
Practice facilities
Playing at a course like Lorca, you'll want to leave any errors, bad habits or off-shots on the range. You can do this for a fee of 1 euro per 24 balls and it is accompanied by a putting green and chipping green as well.
Clubhouse and other facilities
Following a day on the course, you can head back to the clubhouse where you can enjoy a drink and food on the terrace overlooking the mediterranean sunset. The menu is quite extensive, naturally including some traditional tapas items as well as other local recipes while for a lighter bite, there is a bar that will serve snacks and cold beverages. There is of course a pro shop on site also where you'll be able to stock up on golfing essentials as well seeking any guidance or advice from the friendly employees.
The Tees and fairways in in poor condition but the greens are excellent. Each time we played this course it was very quiet and felt like we were the only ones there. Some carries over ravines are intimidating for high handicappers but overall very enjoyadle.
It was like playing on the road the ball kept going until it found the water in front of the green on a couple of holes I drive the ball about 220 probably average but on 3 holes I went into the water on 350-380 meter holes I played in January don't know how you could play in summer Also some ridiculous hard tee shots for ladies on 5 or 6 holes lost alot of golf balls but still had a good score All I say not for the faint hearted could call some holes play station golf
Fairways a bit dry greens were the best in Spain .
