0800 043 6644The Kings Course was built with tour professionals in mind and there is no doubting the credentials of this course to be able to test the best in the game from the back tees. Thanks to a number of well placed tee locations on each hole however, golfers of all abilities will enjoy the Kings challenge. Like the Queens, fairways are heavily tree lined – although the pines are still some time away from full maturity – and with water coming into play on a number of holes, a number of which are tricky doglegs, accuracy and course management is the order of the day. Stand out holes include the short par-4 6th, the par-3 7th, which is a classic lakeside hole and the par-5 18th, which is one of the great closing holes on any course to have hosted the European Tour.
The Queens Course was the first to be opened for play at Kungsangen, closely followed by the Championship Kings Course two years later. Measuring just 5,797 yards, the course is by no means lengthy but what it lacks in yardage it makes up for with a tricky layout. Fairways are tight and tree lined which demands accuracy from the tee and holes are laid out in such a way that an appreciation of strategy is a must. Water comes into play on a handful of holes and sneakily placed bunkers also add to the challenge.
A newly refurbished clubhouse boasting an excellent restaurant, top class practice facilities and an outstanding pro shop complete the golfing package at Kungsangen.
