0800 043 6644Renowned course designer Ross Watson has produced a magnificent at Horizon Hills Golf & Country Club, bringing the best out of every golfer who visits with its exciting, modern layout and posing as a real challenge for even the low handicapper. The course boasts a strong risk-reward mantra and this evident as early as the second hole where the difficult par-5 shoots down to a fairway split by a creek, already testing your mettle as to whether to lay up or not. However there is a second creek which will come into play on your second shot, with water running the whole length of the fairway to the left. To hit green in regulation, you’ll have to avoid the group of bunkers which protect the elevated green and you’ll do very well to come away with five. With so many incredible holes to play at Horizon Hills, the par-3s are what really stand out. The 4th, 8th and 12th holes are all examples of how you should be playing the shorter holes round the course, with many greens surrounded by hazards and smaller yet fast greens to which to aim for. The best par-3 on the course is the 17th which is reminiscent of the 17th at TPC Sawgrass with an island green which slopes off at every angle. Depending on the pin position, the safe route is to hit the centre of the green and precariously putt towards the edge, however for those who go right at it, you can be looking at a big score if it goes wrong. The 18th also features heavy water and an island fairway which if made, gives the best chance of reaching the green in two, however conservative golfers will lay up and ensure they avoid the creek. All in all, big hitters will favour themselves round this awesome course, but your course management will be tested on almost every hole and could spark some interesting competition amongst groups.
The dining experiences at Horizon Hill Golf & Country Club are perfect for golfers returning after a tough round on the course. The Golfer’s Terrace serves a range of cuisines that you might not expect in Malaysia included a traditional cornish pie, tuna lasagna, tandoori lamb and even pizza. The popular space is located in the centre of the golf course with panoramic views of the course, with the south side affording views of the 10th and 18th greens while the north shows the 1st and 9th.
