The golf course at Etretat is a sublime and spectacular one that ranks alongside the most enjoyable of any in Normandy. The par-72 layout is perched dramatically on the edge of the classical white cliffs of the coastline, high above the English Channel.
The cliff-top location means the views are nothing short of stunning but keep those drives straight as a few of the holes run dangerously close to the edge!
The course was first laid out in 1908 and it is rumoured that many of France’s leading artists have enjoyed the atmosphere and simple beauty of Golf d'Etretat. It can get quite windy on the course but this just adds to the challenge and enjoyment of this type of links golf.

0800 043 6644Like many of the great courses in Northern France, Etretat was created from the inspiration of the Britishexpatriate community, and it remains a firm favourite. From the tips, thecourse is a challenging championship layout that stretches over 6,500 yards.
The views from this historic course are well worth the tripalone, but the golf course itself is equally impressive. Stay at the DormyHouse Etretat in town to enjoy the best of this cliff top classic.

Stunning views and some interesting holes. The clubhouse is being renovated and should be up and running March 2024. Temporary facilities were good with lovely food etc. The course was being mown three times a week in September (normally just once) due to the wet summer which was appreciated. The pro shop could not have been more helpful and the excellent english spoken by staff was a blessing.
Nice views
This is a very special golf course, we really enjoyed it the most of the 5 courses we played. Coastal so weather and wind are unpredictable. Amazing views from almost every hole. Greens were very fast. Overall one of the best courses I've played.
great views from this course.
The layout of this course seems basic. Long holes with green fairways, bunkers with white sand and high roughs (loosing balls easily). During the whole course the view is stunning! There is a azure sea, white beach, the village of Etretat and long stunning views. Bring your camera!! Highly recommended.
Course was a treat, with the most awesome views. The breeze was a welcome great, after the heat of previous days. The pro shop was particularly helpful,in all matters. Highly recommend to any golfers travelling to Normandy.
Play this course for the views which, on some of the holes, are simply outstanding. The 10th hole is an amazing par 5 with a particularly intimidating drive - especially if it's the first time you've played it as it is difficult to assess the distance to the stretch of fairway you're aiming at with the tee positioned about 100ft above it.
A course with spectacular views. Great fun!!
Fairly straight forward front 9 but the back nine was definitely more scenic with interesting and challenging holes.
Fabulous course with great views of the Normandy coastline. Some very challenging holes on the back 9. A fabulous days golf would recommend it as a must do for golfers visiting Normandy.
Ok
What a great course with fantastic views! The greens were receptive and not too slow. Looked well manicured. Maybe the only thing that was worrying were that we found it could be quite off putting, was driving while people were walking towards you on another fairway which seemed too close for comfort. The club house bar had the best views a great place to have an after round drink.
Dramatic scenery cliff edge stuff. The bunkers were compacted but other than that I would be love to play it again.
Another favorite on the clifftops. Previously (prewar) the professional was the only Frenchman ever to win the Open - Hoylake 1906!
