The course lies at the heart of an exclusive private residential community, and opened for play in 1996 following design by Doug Carrick and Hans Erhardt.

Fontana Golf Club

The focal point at Fontana is the 20-hectare man-made lake at the heart of the estate, which even has its own beach. Fontana is ‘target golf’ in the American sense, and while it is testing, the course is manageable for the average visitor. Fontana is ranked as Austria’s second best course, and will be the highlight of a golf escape in the Vienna area.

Very Good

Very grand clubhouse set the tone, excellent practice facilities and a course in very good condition. Course is very open with some early fairways undulating in a links style fashion. water not as obvious as at Diamond but enough to come into play on a number of holes especially the closing run. Course is consistently being re-designed with 3 new holes this year - tended to lack a consistent feel to my mind - but still 18 holes of challenging golf. Surprisingly shorter than Diamond (5,972m) as it felt a brute possibly not helped by temperatures in mid 30s. Again good plan of hole at each tee. Excellent lunch facilities
