0800 043 6644Elfordleigh was always a good test of golf but following a recent extensive refurbishment the course has now matured into a genuine parkland gem which will offer an exciting test of golf to players of all shapes and sizes. The tee boxes have been tastefully demarcated with new carved stonework, while much of the bunkering has been reshaped. The greatest change can be seen however around the turn, where the treacherous lakes that infringe upon the 11th and 12th holes have been extended to pose an even greater threat.
This 5,690 yard parkland course is delightfully scenic, and will undoubtedly be enjoyed by all those who make the journey South-West for a golf break at Elfordleigh. Thanks to tireless work and significant investment, winter conditions at Elfordleigh continue to improve meaning golfers choosing to visit Elfordleigh are in for a real treat no matter the time of the year.
Elfordleigh is a charming retreat in the South-West, where visitors will be welcomed to the charming and peaceful country house hotel.
Despite being only a short drive from the centre of Plymouth, Elfordleigh is set in a tranquil rural estate that spans more than 100 acres. The 40 guest bedrooms are spacious and designed to guarantee the maximum comfort and convenience, with many affording outstanding views across the golf course to the surrounding Devonshire countryside.
The exceptional service at the privately-managed hotel should make for a memorable and relaxing golf break.
Elfordleigh's heated indoor swimming pool measures 15 metres, while visitors are also free to use the Oasis Club's two whirlpool spas, sauna, steam room, and the tennis and squash courts. The neighbouring fitness suite has cardiovascular training equipment and free weights, while the dance studio has a full schedule of aerobic classes. The Oasis Spa offers a range of health and beauty treatments including facials, waxing and massages using the Dermatologica products.
Churchill's Restaurant is set in the delightful conservatory, and is famous for its locally caught fresh fish dishes.
The Brasserie is the perfect option for an informal meal or a snack.
The Elite and Reynolds Suites can cater for meetings and conferences up to 200 delegates.
We booked this hotel for a week's stay, playing 3 rounds of golf and using it as a base to explore the area. This hotel is actually more of a short golfing break hotel for groups, which we were unaware of. The menu was very restricted and never changed and most things were with chips. We spoke to one of the owners who very kindly arranged an extended menu for us but this was only on offer for 2 of our nights stay. He also arranged a roast beef dinner which was inedible. We were extremely disappointed with the food and the bar facilities. The pro shop was excellent and the staff very helpful, particularly as YGT had not booked our tee times so they had to fit us in, as the course was very busy. The spa facilities were also good. The rooms were, again, basic with a small wardrobe and no bath. The room wasn't cleaned during our 7 nights stay. Beds were made, coffee etc replenished and the toilet and sink were cleaned.
Lovely room but food disappointing limited healthy choices. More bar meal than restaurant. Spa good apart from cold steam room.

The course is very hilly, which is normal for this area. It was extremely picturesque and very interesting.
