The course plays at over 7,800 yards from the championship tees and is the longest course in the whole of Vietnam; if you dare play from these tees, make sure you pack your driver. However, for shorter hitters or higher handicaps, there are four other tees to choose from, making this brilliant course accessible and enjoyable for golfers of all abilities.
The unique layout plays away from the East Sea, eliminating the coastal winds you may experience at other courses in Da Nang but like many other courses in the area provides golfers with spectacular views across the rolling hills and surrounding valleys. The course is split by two distinctly different nine-holes; the front nine features a traditional parkland layout with pine forests bordering many of the fairways, creating daunting doglegs which can cause some tricky blind shots. The back nine is more open with some gentle undulation, embracing the hilly terrain and even boasting some unique bunkers with grass rolled over the face, making them only semi visible from the tees. The small greens are incredibly maintained throughout the course but many of them do slope, so pin point accuracy is needed, especially with some unforgiving pin positions.
The highest point of the course comes at the par-4 10th, while the 12th takes you back downhill at possibly the most stunning par-3 you’re likely to play in Vietnam. One of Ba Na Hills greatest assets is its capacity to allow for night golf - it is the only floodlit course in Da Nang. This course is most definitely worthy of the many awards that it has picked up to date, boasting a real challenge for the low handicappers but still remaining exciting and fun to play for higher handicappers.
