As I stand on the tee, holding a little white golf ball between my fingers, I’m reminded of its immense power. Because it’s not just some piece of sports equipment, it’s a gateway to some of life's most significant experiences.
This little white ball is an excuse to do very big, important things. It’s a reason to clear our heads and share what’s on our minds. It offers an opportunity to exercise well into old age, explore new parts of the world, and even challenge the status quo.
Through golf, we spend quality time with those who matter most, connect with nature, and learn to overcome adversity. Most importantly, we make new friends on the course in every decade of our lives.
One of the main reasons I’ve joined forces with Your Golf Travel is to help to share this key message with people all over the world. Through our collaboration, I hope to inspire more people to pick up this little white ball and discover the big, important things it can bring into their lives.
And I hope many of those people are women. Together, we aim to inspire and support women’s golf, making it accessible and enjoyable for all. That’s why I’m delighted to promote their Solheim Cup Experience packages and bring more fans to witness the thrills of this special tournament.
As you can imagine, the Solheim Cup holds a very special place in my heart. This will be the 11th Solheim Cup I’ve been involved in, and I’ve experienced all of its highs and lows. From playing in four European victories and captaining the team to the trophy last year in Spain, to being on the losing side five times. This year, we have the opportunity to create unforgettable experiences for fans and I’m confident my group of players will make Europe, and themselves, proud in September.
But win or lose, we must be thankful for everything that golf has given to us in our lives.
So, if you’re wondering what big things you might do with a little white golf ball in the coming months, years and decades, I have a few recommendations:
Virginia, USA
Support Team Europe in the Solheim Cup and continue to raise the profile of women’s golf.
Norway
Visit the stunning Lofoten Links in my native Norway for the most spectacular golf setting, against the backdrop of the Arctic landscape.
Spain
Play Finca Cortesin in Spain, where we retained the Solheim Cup trophy last year - it’s a golfer’s paradise.
Scotland
Experience the majesty of Gleneagles, the scene of our sensational 2019 Solheim Cup victory.
Florida, USA
Having lived in Florida for almost 20 years and having had the pleasure of spending time with the great Arnold Palmer, it’s impossible not to mention the legendary Bay Hill Club.
Worldwide
Most importantly of all, cherish every moment you get to spend on a golf course.
