Arklow has been described as ‘a true links course’ after having been remodelled in the 1990s and much of the original 1927 design is still in play. Built on a brilliant combination of dunes, marram grass, sand warrens and hollows, the relatively short course at Arklow Golf Links offers a challenge to both experienced golfers and those newer to the game. Controlling your ball in the wind is key on this course, as the interesting design features several crossing fairways, however those who do manage to keep on line could be rewarded with a low score. Ranked 60th in Golf Digest’s 2018 Top 100 courses in Ireland, Arklow Links is a real must play for those looking for a true Irish links course.
