0800 043 6644As the only Nicklaus Signature Course in Murcia, Alhama benefits greatly from annual checkups from the Golden Bear himself where he casts his expert eyes over green speeds, bunker composition and general course conditioning to ensure the highest possible standards can be enjoyed by visiting golfers.
With excellent conditioning assured and sunny skies almost guaranteed all that is left is the layout of the course itself and Nicklaus’ design does not disappoint.
Generous fairways place little pressure on the golfer from the tee – the perfect excuse to go for it with the driver – but hit a sufficiently errant shot and you will certainly be punished; the rough might not be deep but the native grasses are lush and thick, making excavating your ball a tough task. For the better player, hitting the correct portion of the fairway is vital; doglegs and gently curving holes can result in mich longer approaches if you miss on the wrong side.
Like any classic Nicklaus design, from the tee shot onwards, the course demands much more from the golfer. Green complexes are well protected buy deep bunkers and expansive water hazards and even when safely on the green in regulation, two putting is no mean feat. Nicklaus has made sure severe undulations demand full concentration from each and every golfer with the putter in hand.
Measuring a little over 7,500 yards from the tips, Alhama can certainly test the accomplished golfer but with multiple teeing positions on each and every hole, golfers of all shapes and sizes can take the Nicklaus test.

Worst condition of all courses
There was no grass on the course and the bukers were not in play. The course should have been closed. We had to change buggies half way round as the steering was broken and the replacement was not much better.
very long par 3's
Golf course is good but clubhouse facilities appalling. Pace of play was shockingly slow and gave up after 12 holes. Over 3 hours at that point
Enjoyed the course. The clubhouse was just adequate. We watched a group practising who it turned out were behind us. That was fortunate as there did not appear to be a golfer amongst them!! We may be traditionalists but one of them was wearing a vest top!! Surprised they were allowed on. As said they were behind us so didnt affect our game but standards are standards!
The clue house was terrible. Plastic chairs!!!!
Nice course, club house a little run down but overall a nice course
Another fantastic course good for all handicappers...fantastic looking course very welcoming too ...great course
This course is normally the best we play for condition and good greens but the this time was not at its best the greens in particularly fluffy and slow, still a good test of golf but can be much better
