Letter from our CEO January 2023

Back in (2005) Ross Marshall and Andrew Harding met at university and shared a love for golf. They wanted to head to the fairways to play the best courses and were always the guys to organise their group society matches. This sparked the idea of Your Golf Travel.

Fast forward to today and we are now proudly the world's largest golf travel business, offering golf breaks and golf holidays to over 3,000 destinations in 22 countries throughout the UK, Ireland, Europe and the Rest of the World.

Andrew and I are truly delighted to wish you and your families a very happy start to 2023.

Having something to look forward to during the post-Christmas-lull is important for all of us. Whether it's a family golfing get together, a group trip for friends, a ladies away weekend, or playing that bucket list course.

With this in mind, we decided to reward all our unsung heroes this month; our golfers. Our highly awaited brochure with our new arrivals, fresh inspiration, great offers and our favourite and recommended destinations for your next golf holiday will be hitting doormats in the coming days. This is worked on by almost every person in the business. We don't shop it out because we're as passionate about this sport as you are. It's the reason we still do what we do!

Nearly 16 years ago, in our dorms at Durham University, Andrew and I hatched a plan for a business that would enable us to travel the world, playing this incredible sport, meeting other patrons from all walks of life, and creating unforgettable experiences. Those beginnings were humble: in our first office, we were a 4-man-band, with a phone we threw between us every time you rang to book. If you didn't hear the static as we (quite literally) fielded your calls, now you know. Our business persevered through the 2008 Recession, the BlackBerry era (and the death of the BlackBerry era), many, many questionable fashion choices, a global pandemic, and the best of Tiger Woods' career, which grew the sport globally.

Now we're an outfit of over two-hundred highly trained golf travel experts, and the biggest golf travel company in the world, with offices across England, Scotland, Ireland, mainland Europe and the USA. We're still travelling the globe as a team to try-before-you-buy, so you know that when we tell you we love it, we mean it. We've been there; we've played it.

If you ask what my personal recommendations are for golfers this year: they are Costa Navarino in Greece, Monte Rei and Quinta Do Lago in the Algarve, the Heritage Resort in Mauritius, and the new Ailsa Course at Turnberry. As far as big tournaments go, The Masters in Augusta remains close to our hearts. And we're looking forward to The Open Championship at Royal Liverpool and the Ryder Cup in Rome, which will be the ultimate team challenge for Captain Luke Donald and Team Europe!
