15th Year Celebration

My journey with Your Golf Travel? Wow…where do I start?!
I joined the company over 10 years ago, so I’ve been around the block when it comes to golf holidays and also in terms of what I do for YGT. When people ask me what I do for a living now though, it’s hard to sum it up because behind the scenes there are a lot of moving parts. In the simplest of terms though; I film myself playing some very questionable golf in destinations around the world for two key purposes…
1 - To entertain (hopefully) golfers looking for some relatable, light-hearted golf content to view during their downtime.
2 - And more importantly, to educate those looking to book their next golf holiday with YGT, and to give a first-person insight into the places they’ll visit, the courses they’ll play, and the experiences they can enjoy during their holidays.
What’s the old saying? “A picture paints a thousand words?”
We believe that to be very true, so while we do our best to provide as much information as possible via our website, or when you guys speak to our golf experts via the phone, videos documenting every facet of a golf holiday really are the best way to show you guys know exactly what’s on offer around the world when it comes to what we offer our customers.
Since my journey in the world of video and social media kicked off about, it’s been a mad few years…
At present, I’ve played (and filmed) golf in 23 countries and countless destinations around the world, doing my best to show you what’s on offer in more traditional golf destinations like the Algarve and Costa del Sol, right the way to the other end of the spectrum, in unexpected locations such as The Azores and Eswatini (formerly Swaziland) in Africa.
Selection of Vlog Destination collections
Abu Dhabi, Morocco, Portugal, South Africa, South Carolina, Tenerife & Turkey
I’ve recorded videos with friends, colleagues, and family, and I’ve even made videos with the likes of Paul McGinley, Nick Dougherty, and of course, Your Golf Travel’s Chief Holiday Officer, Lee Westwood!

I’ve attended various Open Championships, and countless other tournaments in the UK too. I was at The Ryder Cup in Paris to see Team Europe win in style on one of Europe’s coolest stadium golf courses.
I’ve been to Augusta National on 4 separate occasions to attend The Masters (taking my dad in 2019 to see Tiger win his 5th Green Jacket followed by a few days at Kiawah Island will probably never be topped as far as golf experiences go)...yes guys and gals, going to The Masters is easier than you might think!
Of course, at Your Golf Travel we always Go The Extra Yard for our customers, so while playing golf on some incredible courses, I’ve been lucky to be able to show you guys what we can arrange for your holidays for your time away from the fairways…
I’ve taken a helicopter to the tee of the highest par 3 in the world to smash golf balls off the edge of a mountain.
I’ve gone on Safaris in South Africa to see The Big 5 and even a fan boat tour of The Everglades in Florida to get up close and personal with alligators.
I’ve shot around the Atlantic on a jetski, parasailed over the island of Gran Canaria, and even seen a Blue Whale while whale watching in The Azores during my adventures on my many (filmed) golf holidays with YGT.
Of course, I am also always on hand to share with you all my knowledge and experiences of travelling the world playing golf. I want you guys to have the very best golf holidays possible so if my experiences can help in any way, shape or form find the right golf holiday for you, I go to bed a very happy boy!
If you haven’t done so already, head over to the Your Golf Travel YouTube channel to get a first-person view of some of the best golf courses in the world, with some comically poor golf (I hit some good shots too don’t worry) thrown in for free, and if you have any questions for me about your next golf holiday, don’t hesitate to fire an email over to rorya@yourgolftravel.com. I’m always happy to help!
Your Golf Travel’s Chief Holiday Officer Lee Westwood might’ve played in over 40 countries around the world during his 28 years on tour, but when it comes to bog-standard, average-Joe 8 handicappers, there aren’t too many people out there who can shed as much light on golf holiday experiences as I can.
I’m looking forward to hearing from you soon, and hopefully pointing you in the right direction for your next foray onto the fairways!
