Terrible hotel in much need of modernisation. Lowlights 1) Breakfast left unattended and luke warm fare. Help yourself and clear as you go! 2) Rooms dreadful, cold, windows broken, some smelling disgusting, many had no towels, shower contraptions next to useless, bed bouncy and uncomfy. 3) Spa/leisure facilities out of action due to unforeseen circumstances! 4) Parking very sparse and what there was costly. 5) Checking in was so slow going on from 18:30 to 19:00 for 10 of us that we had to keep cabs waiting 6) Barman failed to show up on 2nd night so manageress had to step in. I will send further details and pics to Sam by email.
Good base for a golf society with an adequate bar (essential), decent restaurant and you can walk to the front and restaurants etc. Typical hotel restaurant so you may not want to take dinner there ever night. Breakfast good and plentiful
Hotel was adequate. Rooms and single beds are very small and sound proofing could be better, woken in the night by noisy neighbours. Not a bad choice for dinner and breakfast all pretty average and ok for golf trip.
Upon arrival we were told they didn't have our booking, the Manager took over and sorted the issue within an hour. Didn't get what we booked but could have been worst. Hotel is 3 star comfortable beds (if not in a sofa bed), good breakfast ideal for a couple of nights
The staff couldn’t help enough, they were really polite and very accommodating. All the rooms we stayed in were comfortable however slight criticism some didn’t have air conditioning working and the showers were very wet. But the beds were very comfortable. We would definitely return to this hotel.
Excellent, Everything we needed
Staff very friendly and helpful but hotel itself is very much in need of a revamp. Feels quite run down.
A very dated hotel but in a good location
Just a good clean all round hotel , food is very good . Staff are polite and helpful
Staff helpful. Room adequate breakfast very good
Very very tired
Not over impressed with The Queens hotel staff seem to be undertrained. When asked about loyalty cards for the bar not aware ,why double beds in twin shared rooms, staff again not aware how to resolve any issues ,when ordering a drinks, staff behind the bar with no training at all and just covering area deemed lease important and charged for doubles when wasn't in the drink or wasn't requested but argued with by floor staff and management , we had spent the best part of 5 to 6 hours of drink time at the bar on Saturday and it was 2am we was always going to be in the wrong but when you have 3 drinks at £43 you may ask how come when told your double shots for 3 drinks and its got only 5 on the receipt , question will be asked but bar shutter pulled down in our faces but we quickly understood we was going to labeled 6 drunken thugs looking to make trouble for the sake of it when really we are all in our mid 50's and enjoying a nitecap with old friends .its a very busy hotel with its functions and the residents are missing out on services in both areas of bar and restaurant (evening meal ).
We enjoyed our five night's we arrived late on the Sunday but the staff were very happy to let us have dinner, all off the staff are very helpful, polite and friendly .
<div>Another golf trip has flown by, 5 days of testing courses and quiet evenings – blessed by warm sunshine and blue skies throughout as we planned!</div><div> </div><div>Our stay at Queens again went smoothly (4th time), all accommodation satisfactory, cuisine was excellent in the evenings, breakfasts good but again mostly "kept warm". Rooms were again generally comfortable if a bit tired on decor.</div><div> </div><div>Golf courses were all fine:</div><div> </div><div><b>Moors Valley</b> – good opener but not in top condition this time, due to recent wet weather we suspect.</div><div><b>Bulbury Woods</b> – first-time visit to a lovely parkland course, a stiff test for all standards, good facilities.</div><div><b>Dudsbury</b> – pleasant course in good condition, unfortunately very busy with a number of societies, resulting in a very slow round of nearly 5 hours.</div><div><b>Brokenhurst Manor </b>– first-time visit to another quality parkland course in good condition, sadly spoiled by member pressure from behind from start to finish.</div><div><b>Barton on Sea</b> – another new venture, a good test for our final day and a good one to finish with – lovely views and facilities.</div><div> </div><div>Each course provided comfortable facilities for drinks and were all hospitable. In particular, the 3 new courses were excellent choices</div>
