Crowborough Beacon Golf Club is one of the South East’s best heathland golf
experiences and with the legendary architects Dr Alister MacKenzie and Harry
Colt both having a hand in its design, this is hardly surprising.
The great golf writer Bernard Darwin said of Crowborough Beacon: "The first thing that will strike the golfer who comes fresh to Crowborough is the wonderful view. I do not suppose there is a wider or more beautiful one in all England."

0800 043 6644Despite being over a century old, the course continues to be acknowledged as one of the premier heathland courses in the South, attracting an increasing number of golfers who appreciate its unique features. The quality of the course justifies hosting significant county competitions, while the variety of tee options ensures an enjoyable experience for golfers of all skill levels.
The layout features a handful of truly exceptional holes, beginning with the second, which descends sharply to the left, separated from the green by a deep gully. It is the type of hole that can significantly impact your score before the round has even begun. The concluding hole presents a magnificent par 4, ascending steeply, bending further to the left, and bordered by heather.
Upon completing your round, you return to the Clubhouse, which is situated atop the course, offering stunning views of the South Downs and, on clear days, the coastline. The terrace serves as a delightful suntrap; however, on chillier days, you can unwind and savor some exquisite cuisine by the warmth of the fire.
