This year marks the return of the Open Championship to Northern Ireland’s Royal Portrush and we couldn’t be more excited. And that excitement’s been ramped up a few notches all thanks to Golf’s Greatest Holes – The Open Special, the first episode of which is being broadcast on Sky Sports Golf at 6pm on Tuesday 28th January.
Now we already love Golf’s Greatest Holes and watched the first two series (covering Ireland and Northern Ireland; and Portugal respectively) with great interest. After all, we’re a golf travel company, and this is the best show on TV about golf travel.
If you haven’t seen it, Golf’s Greatest Holes followers presenter Chris Hollins as he plays – you guessed it – some of the greatest holes in each destination, with a little help from Paul McGinley.
And this time Golf’s Greatest Holes returns to our screen for a special series all about Royal Portrush and the Open Championship. Chris Hollins will once again be joined by Paul McGinley, but with actor James Nesbitt and our very own Darren Clarke this time also joining in with the action, with 6 episodes being broadcast every Tuesday at 6pm between 28th January and 4th March.
As our ambassador, we already know that there’s no one better to talk about all things Royal Portrush and the Open – given he’s an honorary member there and an Open Champion! But we were there in person while Darren was filming, and even we were surprised with how well his true love for this stunning golf course came across on the show. Viewers are really in for a treat!
So, if you fancy a sneak peek at the series, you can watch the trailer below and make sure you tune in on Tuesday 28th January at 6pm on Sky Sports Golf and let us know what you think.
