Top golf clubs for 2015

A new year lies ahead and it may be time to replace the rusting irons and the inconsistent driver for brand new clubs as you look to start the golf season with a bang.

Technology in clubs is improving year-on-year and it’s very easy to be left behind. Top golf brands have released their upcoming products for 2015 so if you’re planning on opening the cheque book, look no further than this selection.

Cleveland CG Black range

Cleveland announce that their new range of irons are ‘their most accurate to date’ but still designed to help carry the ball longer. Aimed at golfers with a swing speed less than 90mph, Cleveland have improved the club face with a 20% larger High COR Area which helps with consistency.

Not only are the irons a solid option, they look the part too with their slick black design.

The new CG black driver is one of the lightest clubs on the market. Cleveland wanted to design a driver that offers a higher-launching shot and that is exactly what they’ve done with shots launching 1° to 2° higher than their 2012 version.

Mizuno JPX 850

The Mizuno’s new JPX 850 and JPX 850 forged irons are a big step up from the JPX 825. Mizuno have increased the ball speed by increasing the flexible portion of the clubface but they made sure to keep the feel and control of the club.

It could be worth stumping up the extra cash to buy the forged version which allows for a thinner face. Mizuno claim they have spent six years developing and improving the club to make certain it’s the most modern iron of the era.

Building on the Vapor Pro driver, Nike are releasing the Vapor Flex and the less expensive Vapor Speed.

The Flex driver features an adjustable hosel which allows for the loft and face angle to be changed to provide 15 different combinations to match your swing.

Titleist 915 D2, D3 drivers

The new Titleist drivers are one of the most forgiving clubs ever produced. Even if you hit the ball a half-inch off the centre of the club, you still generate 99% of maximum ball speed. Balls struck low on the face provide faster ball speeds than the 913 series and less spin.

The less spin generated with the 915 range means that an average of three yards more carry is generated. The Titleist 915 drivers come in various weights and you can adjust the loft so it wouldn’t be difficult to find the perfect driver for you.
