The PGA Championship is the last chance to win a Major title this season for the Tour Pros, but it’s hardly the last big event of the year. Players will not only be fighting it out to win the years last Major but also battling to make it into the Ryder Cup teams.
Take away Woods and previous winners Mickelson & Vijay Singh and Sergio Garcia could be seen as the favourite, he took a major step forward in winning The Players Championship this year and has good experience of Oakland Hills going unbeaten in five matches at the 2004 Ryder Cup.
But there also seems a good chance of a first time winner of a Major this Sunday, so can Lee Westwood or Ian Poulter continue their good form of previous outings this year. Another Major champion in waiting is Adam Scott, the smooth-swinging Aussie has finished in the top 12 three times in the last five PGAs. But there are plenty of other newbies like Sean O’Hair, Justin Rose and Brandt Snedeker who appear likely candidates for future winners, but Anthony Kim’s two wins this year show he might be the closest to getting it done.
I can’t wait…
