The PGA Championship used to mark the end of the major championship season and was known by many as "Glory's Last Shot". In 2019 the tournament moved to May, making it the second Major of the year, Oak Hill will host the tournament for the fourth time in 2024.

Quail Hollow is renowned as one of the top courses in America. Initially planned by the famous golf course architect George Cobb in 1961, the course was created to highlight the beauty and demanding landscape of the Piedmont region.
Throughout the years, the course has undergone multiple upgrades, including changes to specific holes by Arnold Palmer in 1986, a redesign by Tom Fazio in 1997, and modifications by Tom Fazio to several holes in the summer of 2016.
